Lady Hydari Park is one of the well-known attractions in Shillong. The Park is frequently visited by locals and is a well-visited tourist spot of the region. Named after the first lady of the province, Lady Hydari, wife of the Governor of Assam, the Park is spread over an area of more than a kilometer and features a mini zoo... More

You can see a few animals and birds in the park. We saw huge Pelicans. That was good. Otherwise nothing much to see. Locals use this park for picnics - to spend a few hours with family / friends. You won't miss anything if you skip visit to this park.

The park has 2 sections. One is a mini-zoo and the other is a play area / playground. The zoo has some animals such as Black Bears, Marten and Macaques and birds such as eagles, owls. If you have the time and have small kids, it may be ok to visit for around 15-20 min else it can be skipped.

This has to be a big disappointment, considering the potential that this place had. The park has some animals that can't be seen elsewhere - Himalayan Polecat, Himalayan Vultures, Himalayan Black Bears etc.. but they are stuffed in horribly inadequate cages. People were happily feeding popcorn. Sigh...

The place has a small zoo with deers, bear, birds, etc. The garden is good but need better upkeep. The place is popular to locals. Was slightly overcrowded but it could be due to 25th Dec when we visited. Children would love this place.

This is a nice place for school picnics. The park is big and decent sized for children's to play around and girls to take selfies (we saw a lot of girls posing and taking selfies). They have a tiny zoo which is almost in ruin and i didn't see any officer or guard around, so people were feeding the animals... More

I did not get thrilled to enter the park. In every city, there is a park and a lake. So there is no extra-ordinary thing of excitement. I did not find any characteristic distinguishing quality of Hyderi Park. The area is vast and situated within the town. I entered the museum and viewed some stuffed animals. I came out from... More

This is one of the best places to hangout in Shillong. Situated at the heart of the city is a must visit for the first timers.
