The farthest point in Matheran. So the walk up here weans out the weaker, noisier tourists. less crowded than the rest of matheran during peak season. nice place for a stroll. we spotted a pack of wild dogs, managed to get lost, and find ourselves again. All in the matter of five minutes :)

nothing out of the world. the way to the charlotte lake provides a better point where you see the water go off the valley and that gets sprayed back up due to the wind intensity.

Charlotte Lake is the lake that supplies water to Matheran. It is a nice tourist destination, but there are just too many hawkers and food & drink vendors around the place. This leads to littering in the water as well as the land near it. I had been to the lake a few years ago & I was dissapointed to... More

Cool breeze, you can spend an hour just watching the silent water and light cool breeze. Best time is during 7am-9am or 4pm-6pm when sun is not harsh.

It is a shame that the main water bosy of Matheran looks like a gutter with filth and garbage thrown by tourists. Would request the authorities to limit tourist access to this water source. Avoid visiting as its a waste of time

The first point we trekked was to Charlotte Lake. This is a view of the a dam and when water is released, it would turn out to be a water falls. When we went, there was not much water and no water falls. The water falls was used as a view point. Nearby located is, Lord Point.

One must definitely visit the lake in Matheran. Its not for the size but the environment around the lake that makes it especial. And if one is lucky enough its best enjoyed when surrounded by mist.

Visited in rains. On the first view it may look any other lake, but watch it from each angle you will notice that it is really beautiful. Trees hovering over the water, calm lake water, green background. Perfect picturesque place. It becomes heavenly if suddenly fog covers the whole lake water after a little drizzle, as it did when we... More
