There is nothing much to see here except the bridge to cross the lake to go to the Echo point and Shiv Temple which are good.

The lake is serene. Sitting in one of the shacks around the lake and sipping sugarcane juice is a nice experience. There is nothing much to do other than sitting by the lake.

The only lake in Matheran surrounded by thick forests, is just about one km walk from market, through forested dust roads. Most visitors prefer to walk but few prefer horse ride. Walking through forested Matheran is an experience never enjoyed in present day city life, and walk to the lake is real fun. The serene lake is formed by a... More

We visited Matheran on a weekend and Charlotte lake was our point of relaxation. Its a wonderful sight to see the lake and its serene surroundings however the local authorities have not maintained it properly. Even though matheran is a beautiful hillstation, i would not rate it very good. There is red dust everywhere and the horses keep hassling you... More

Lake was nice, however poor management again - no cleanliness was kept, much plastic bottles, plastic packets were spread around, the horses will stand in between the roads that walking through them scares a lot. Locals are not mannered well for keeping all horses in a line, they are spread up all over the mountain and very un-organized manner. No WASHROOMS... More

we strolled past this lake and stopped for a cool drink at the cafe. Very relaxing! We were approached by two locals who wanted to share a bottle of beer with us - we were surprised and uncertain whether this was something more sinister

I visit Matheran atleast once every year, it is really saddening to see this marvelous lake shrinking and getting smaller and smaller everytime I visit. The authorities should take steps to restore this glorious water body.

It seems the lake has been shrinking in size and now a very small piece of it is left. The lake is very small now and hardly pleasurable to watch. Nearby points are more beautiful then the lake. It's time Matheran Municipality took concrete measures to restore and preserve the beauty of this beautiful lake.

Its a small lake, with some sittings. Has a temple adjacent to it. Its probably one of the points that can be skipped.
