The museum is maintained well. There are discriptions of the halls which contain the exibits. At the entrance, the story of Rani Durgavati is depicted in panels which reminded me of the Amar Chitra Katha edition with the same name. Many of the collections are from the Chausat Yogini Temple.

Though the museum has a lot to exhibit, the exhibits are covered in dust and has a sleepy atmosphere. The keeper of the museum opened the doors and switched on the lights and directed us from one room to the other.Visit the place if you have time to while way.

The collection of coins is excellent. Also if you have not visited Chausat Yogini temple you can get the details in this museum. It is very close from bus station and also from Russel chowk. ( Walk able distance)

A two storied structure. Needs a better guided tour in the numismatics section. Otherwise a worthy collection. The security arrangement should be enhanced as structures and sculptures are also exhibited in the open garden.

There being no option for a date in 1982 i have shown the date of my visit as Oct 2012, though I actually visited this Musuem in the year 1982 and some date a little later, thereafter. I remember they have a very good collection of so many things which have archeological value.

This is a nice place to spend an hour, if you are in the city and have nothing to do. You can hire a tonga to reach this place; tongas are inexpensive and exciting, especially for first-timers. People are nice.

If you have nothing to do and are in Jabalpur city only for a couple of hours, then this museum offers a nice timepass. A collection of rare coins, monuments and arms makes it a decent place to visit. The place is mismanaged and is nothing compared to the other large museums in the country.
