Omkareswara temple is situated right in the heart of the town. This is a nice temple with very calm and serene atmosphere. Go to the temple in the evening after the sunset, looks very good in the light.

We visited this place in July 2013. There is much to see here. Just a beautiful temple having a pond infront of it.

You can visit this temple in maximum 15 minutes. Very peaceful as not queue bound like many other temples.

Just another temple in a town. It has a plaque which briefly tells us about its history. There is a large pond in front of the temple with plenty of fishes and ducks. Entry is not allowed for women dressed in shorts/capris. Guys even in shorts are allowed.

A great place to visit. Beautifully built Buddhist monastery. They have poojas even 15 days (Based on some Buddhist calendar) so if you are lucky, you will get to see many Buddhist disciples chanting mantras in chorus. Nice place to spend some peaceful time and do some shopping at the Tibetan Market.

Temple reopens at 5 PM. So visit accordingly. Architecture is really good and at the entrance there is a small pond where you can feed the fishes.

Very close to Raja seat in Madikeri. Perhaps the most famous temple in Madikeri, it is a Shiva temple.

Reached the temple at 3.30pm but it was closed at this time. The reopen time was 5.00pm so we saw the temple from outside only. Did took some photographs. Overall a good temple and must see place in Madikeri. The temple remains close from 12.00pm to 5.00pm.

The Omkareshwara temple built in 1820 by the ruler Lingarajendra Wodeyar II and is located in the heart of Madikeri Town. It reflects the combination of both Gothic and Islamic style of architecture. There is a tank with fishes at the entrance of the temple is very attractive. We can feed the fishes if you carry fish food. There is... More
