It seems like having a Presidential museum would be a big deal for Fremont. It was really tough for me to find it, though. My GPS wasn't working. I figured I could drive into town and see some signs. I had to stop and ask a person and she had some trouble describing how to get there. I even passed... More

We stopped simply to have a break on a long drive - thought it would be 30 minutes or so. Left three hours later! The Museum part is a bit aged - and needs a through re-work, but they are already planning that part. The House is Spectacular! What a restoration! And to have all the original furnishing is amazing.... More

If this house had been the home of, say, Abraham Lincoln, it would be a national attraction on the order of Mt. Vernon or Monticello. While it is a beautiful home in a bucolic setting, and while Rutherford B. Hayes appears to have been a good man, he was not, alas, a president of that stature. This is a very... More

I had driven back and forth on I 80 for years without stopping off in Fremont so on this trip, I planned time for a visit. I thought I'd be there an hour; it was more like two. You could stay longer. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Although the museum and library are interesting, the house tour was definitely... More

The Rutherford B. Hayes Library and Museum is a definite stop on an Ohio itinerary. A visitor can visit the Library and Museum or the Rutherford and Lucy Hayes home or BOTH. Both are worth it, but be sure to include the home in your visit.

Wonderful and knowledgeable guide(I missed the intro, so don't know her name). It is amazing that the family saved so much of the original furnishings, etc. Very nice exhibits in the Library, I especially enjoyed the displays on each of the presidents.

The top three attractions for Fremont are the Presidential Center, the museum and the library. I'm not sure where to put my review of the incredible library staff who aid out-of-town and local genealogists do research. I travel here a couple times a year, purchased a membership this year, and am always impressed with the resources and staff at this... More

Bet everyone on I-80 passes this sign and says, "I should stop sometime." STOP SOME TIME! Learn about President Hayes in an accessible way. Bet you will remember way more than you learned in history classes.
