We had a great tour of the Ohio Statehouse a couple of weeks ago while on Columbus for a 3-day stay. Our guide, who is the manager of the historic site program at the Statehouse, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about architectural history, American history, and how the design and history of the Statehouse was shaped by both. I... More

Renovated and restored to its orignal design. The Ohio state house is full of history and isn't a bad place to take a little tour.

Six of us went to the Statehouse to take a tour on a Saturday afternoon. We were the only ones in our group, because special arrangements had been made for a Boy Scout troop to have their own group. I overheard the tour guide ask the boys if they had a particular badge they were working towards or if this... More

My beau and I are on a quest to visit all state capitol buildings. This is our 6th. Thank goodness the Statehouse is open on Saturdays; otherwise a visit would require taking time off from work. Although, there is parking available underneath the building, we parked a couple of blocks away so that we could get the effect of walking... More

The restaurant in the lower level of the Statehouse is the greatest homemade lunch spot in town. Besides the wonderful food and assortment in the Statehouse but there are wonderful history lessons and gift shops. If you are in Columbus stop in for lunch and enjoy the food and history

We try to see as many states as we can, and when we are near a capitol, we generally take a peek. History, architecture, state pride - there's always something interesting even if you never go inside. The Statehouse in Ohio is a cut above due to a free 50-minute tour and convenient underground parking. It's nice to find out... More

We had an enjoyable and insightful tour -- run by a gracious and well informed guide -- of many parts of the Statehouse. Following the tour, we walked through the interesting exhibits in the museum in the basement.

Went in on a whim, and gotta say it beat expectations. It had interesting displays, friendly tour guides, and beautiful layout of items and info. Great for photography as well.

Come watch where elected representatives are destroying state democracy and the quality of our shared wealth in Ohio. If you are very interested, maybe bring a red envelope to buy off a state senator or representative and ask him to help privatize our beautiful state parks to open them up to hydrolicfracturing.

We visited here on a rainy day and probably spent at least 2 hours; there are wonderful cases full of historical details, memorabilia, photos, declarations. We viewed the State House Chambers which are very impressive. This building was all redone several years ago (or more) and it is a delight to see - the colors and the details in the... More
