The Ohio Statehouse is one of the prettiest buildings in Downtown Columbus. This is a must for anyone visiting our great city. The tours are amazing. There is much history and not at all a stuffy history lesson much more.

There is not much to see at the statehouse unless you are "doing business" or attending a reception. We went to see the Lincoln funeral exhibit which was okay but not really suited for our nine-year-old granddaughter. It does have a lovely hall for wedding receptions, etc.

Local group of volunteers will guide you around several historic buildings in downtown Columbus at 1O AM on Saturdays. The Ohio Statehouse is an incredible source of Ohio History, architecture and beauty to behold with a short 30 minute tour.

An Architecture Beauty. The only Statehouse in the country that does not have a rounded dome. Set on a beautiful, landscaped plot of land right in the middle of a metropolitan area. Convenient to hotels, restaurants and shopping.

This is a gem. We have been to Columbus Many times and never thought of touring the statehouse. It is very interesting and we want to take our grandchildren soon.

Happened to walk in right as a tour was starting and we joined up. Erin was a fantastic guide. We were there on a Saturday afternoon (maybe 2pm?) and pretty much had the place to ourselves which was great for picture taking. There are stairs on the tour but she did give us an elevator option. If you are at... More

On the outside the capital is not super beautiful, but go inside and check out the rotunda!!! I recommend parking in the below ground lot and take the elevator up.there is no fee for entering the statehouse, unless you are from Michigan. (That's a joke)

In recent years we've been to the statehouses of Indiana, West Virginia and Massachusetts and have been quite impressed with them all, so it was an easy decision to add Ohio to the list while traveling through Columbus last week on our way to Cleveland. We parked in the underground lot as suggested on the statehouse website and had no... More

This was a visit well worth the time. Be very sure to take a tour so the history of the building can come alive. The rotunda area is magnificantly beautiful.
