Well maintained and striking library with an impressive architecture. Gives a feeling of an old palace with impressive halls and huge staircases. Seemed to have a great collection of books as well.

okay we had time to kill between the wedding ceremony and the reception so my kids, ages 11 & 13 wanted to visit the library. Very large; great architecture and terrific view of Lake Erie from the children's section! was a fun detour for an hour or so.

WOw, this place is huge! I wasn't looking for anything in particular so I cant' speak of their selection but the variety is overwhelming. Two city blocks of everything one could possibly need. The architecture on the original building was very nice to look at from my 8th floor hotel window but was more impressive in person..quite a contract to... More

but most of quality is downtown, hard to get to when this is it, lots of noise, and torn up books, library does not police patrons, otherwise they have what you look for, some books missing, not allowed, censorship

Cleveland has a huge and very unique downtown branch. The building alone is worth the visit. The architecture is similiar to old churches.

I am not a fan of the new modern part of the Library, but I still visit the old. I love the smell of the books and the quiet and private atmosphere of the "old" Library.

My favorite thing about the library in downtown Cleveland is the Reading Garden that connects the old building to the newer building. The Reading Garden is an outdoor courtyard accessible from Superior & Rockwell. There's plenty of seating, & a little 'waterfall'. You MUST check out the older library building - it's beautiful inside.

This institution has an old built to last buidling joined with a more modern addition. The huge facility has a good selection of periodicals and computers to use...which is good to know for the visitor to Cleveland who may choose an indoor period of time during bad weather.

I spent a lot of my career in publishing and CPL was one of the best customers for the scholarly materials we produced. This is a top library, recognized all over the world, and one of the ten best in the USA with all kinds of book collections, up-to-date searching tools and rare books, as well.

The older building is truly an architectural gem. More like a palace than a library. Just about every category and book is found here. I go there often for school and just to walk around.
