My wife and I traveled to Cleveland specifically for this "multi-media" production of Janacek's opera, The Cunning Little Vixen (Příhody lišky Bystroušky). This was one of the most beautiful and moving performances I've ever attended anywhere. The Cleveland Orchestra is simply one of the world's best. The production was imaginative and delightful -- and perfectly matched to the opera. Whatever... More

Attended a performance of The Cunning Little Vixen by Leos Janacek. This was a new production. It combined opera, full orchestra -which was the predominant feature- and animation of both scenery and the various animals. Well done, good venue.

The orchestra makes each perfect note sound effortless. Severance Hall is elegant, and an experience to enjoy. We saw the opera, The Saucy Little Vixen, which featured animated settings, which were a little distracting, but I focused on the orchestra and thoroughly enjoyed the evening

I've been listening to the recordings of the Cleveland Orchestra since the 1950's, so it was a thrill to finally see and hear them in person. All the sections of the orchestra were excellent and stayed with the guest conductor perfectly, even with some unusual pieces. The highlight of the evening was Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor, played by... More

I have attended orchestra concerts for years both at Severance and Blossom but I recently attended one of the Friday matinees. It was a shortened version of that weekends program--two pieces instead of three--no intermission and done in a little over an hour. Same beautiful setting, same wonderful musicians but during the day and less costly. Group purchases come with... More

The Cleveland Orchestra never fails to impress. The yearly program is varied, and there is always something that I am interested in hearing. Excellent soloists often perform with the Orchestra, as well.

This concert was led by Michiko Uchida. All-mozart program. Really wonderful. The setting, of course, is incredible, this octagonal jewel box created to honor Mrs. Severance by her husband, with architectural details copied from her wedding dress.

First just stop and take in all the sight of the building. It is beautiful. The colors the lights the shape. The staff was beyond helpful to our seats and the music was truly mesmerizing. Make sure you tilt your head up and stare at the ceiling. Its worth it.

I have lived in Cleveland most of my life and Severance Hall is my absolute favorite place in the city. It's an architectural masterpiece and the Cleveland Orchestra is the best in the world. We were recently in London to hear the symphony at Royal Festival Hall and actually felt like we were in sub-par environment compared to what we... More
