This orchestra can play anything and it does. Anyone in Cleveland must come to Severance Hall to hear this incredible ensemble on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and sometimes on Sunday.

October 10, 2014 - We were fortunate to see Lang Lang (pianist) in concert at Severance Hall with the Cleveland Orchestra. Since our concert was on Friday night, it was part of a series of concerts sponsored by a Cleveland bank. It included a pre-concert performance in another part of Severance Hall and a post-concert in yet a different part... More

We went to the opening concert of the new season and it was a true joy. Severance hall is beautiful, with many art deco touches that you have to see to appreciate. The concert hall itself is amazing with excellent acoustics and great seating. The symphony, of course, is one of the best and it showed. It is a must... More

My husband and I buy a quarter series to the Cleveland Orchestra each year which means we go to around 6 concerts a year. The Cleveland Orchestra is rated as one of the best orchestras in the world and Severance Hall is beautiful with wonderful acoustics. We are lucky to be able to enjoy the incredible music at this wonderful... More

I'm a huge fan of Art Deco, and had no idea how blown away I would be seeing how perfect the interior of severance hall was. Nothing has been changed since it opened in 1930. Seats, doors, elevators, even bathroom fixtures! I could have spent the entire show just walking around and looking at all the small details. Even the... More

Conductor Franz Welser-Möst brings a new flavor to classic favorites. We especially enjoy his conducting of Beethoven masterpieces. Our recent visit was to hear the Bach Mass in B Minor. The solo vocalists were outstanding.

Worth a look to marvel at the history of classical music that grew up within it, even if you can't listen. Was Maestro George Szell really such an autocrat that he told the janitors here how to mop and what kind of toilet tissue to put out? I wanted to know. Sadly, no answers. Just a gorgeous building. Still, there... More
