The Emerald Necklace is a series of parks that form a "necklace" around Cuyahoga County, starting at Lake Erie, continuing south and encircling the county. It is an incredible green space with amazing outdoor opportunities for picnics, biking, fishing, hiking, relaxing, golfing, horseback riding, etc. It is a real Cuyahoga County treasure!

The Emerald Necklace refers to the necklace shaped of parks and recreation opportunities that surround Cleveland from East to West. We frequent many of them at various times throughout the year. We especially love Squaw Rock near Chagrin Falls.

Whatever you want to do, you can do in the metro parks. East side, west side, south side you can do it all. Only on the north side of Cleveland do you get shut out, by Lake Erie which has its own fun. Great for kids, family, pets, wildlife. Facilities to cook, baseball fields to play on. In fall, wonderful... More

Beautiful place to bike, walk , be in nature. Not far from Cleveland Clinic. Going to Emerald Necklace was a nice break from being with my husband at Cleveland Clinic. Highly recommend.

The system of parks surrounding Cleveland brings Mother Nature very close to many urban and suburban dwellers, offering many different types of both active and passive recreation. You can take hikes of various lengths, sit and read by a waterfall, or explore a restored meadow and watch butterflies. A real treasure for those living in the area.

Cleveland Metroparks is made up of several individual parks that form an Emerald Necklace around Cleveland and its surrounding suburbs. Each park is unique in its offerings and is free to the public. The Emerald Necklace is truly a gem and a must to be visited by anyone in the city.

Beautiful quiet place by the river. Nice for walking, plenty of parking, great atmosphere. Bring your own canoe/kayak or rent one on site.

We went to Rocky Ridge Reservation - one of the many Cleveland Metroparks. it was a very pretty park - we walked about 2 miles along the Rocky Ridge River. There are walking paths, and a few trails - as well as picnic areas. I strongly recommend going to the Cleveland Metroparks website to learn more about all of the... More

There are not enough words to describe this park system. I am lucky enough to live close enough to enjoy the many different activities that are offered, some even for free. The golf courses are great to play. There are plenty of walking trails, picnic areas and wildlife to keep you busy all day. There are places to swim, fish,... More
