It's not the Smithsonian. It's not the American Museum of Natural History in NY. But it's an excellent mid sized museum for all ages. Has something for everyone; dinosaurs, rocks and gems, earthquake simulator and a very good planetarium. The gift shop is fairly large and carries items of interest for all ages. There is an activity room for young... More

This museum offers a mix of permanent and special-feature exhibits. It has enough cross-generational material to support a family visit and mixes well over the variety. This is also a working research site, and that aspect of their contributions is nsometimes noted. If you're from this area, periodic revisits are appropriate. Their cafeteria and gift shop are also appropriate -... More

My boyfriend and I were on a road trip and being a history buff... my boyfriend wanted to stop at the Museum, and I was pretty excited to see some Dinosaur fossils. When we got there, parking was $8, which wasn't a big deal, then when we got in, admission was only $12 a piece, which I thought was a... More

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is very well laid out. The exhibits flow in a circle around the building so instead of picking and choosing which hall to visit you flow through all of the main exhibit halls. It is not as impressive as the Field Museum in Chicago or the Smithsonian in D.C. but it is nice. I... More

I live in Indianapolis and my in-laws live here in Cleveland. Every year I teach Balto to my kids and we learn about the Iditarod. I was super excited to learn that Balto was in Cleveland. We worked the museum into our trip months in advance and I was horribly dissapointed in the exhibit. He's there all right...with a small... More

It is a nice museum, but do not expect anything extraordinary (nothing to compare with the Smithsonian museum in DC). They have a cool planetarium though!

The Cleveland Natural History Museum is moderately sized with very fine and representative exhibits - Gems and minerals, dinosaurs, etc. The special exhibit was on the Silk Road trade from China to the Mediterranean. Kids and grown ups will love this!

I went here for curiosity one evening while spending time in University circle. This museum is good for younger people and maybe children who are fascinated with knowledge about animals. It is just as good for adults who like science. Science and nature are on display here. Those people who like science should spend much time here. Adults should not... More

We visited the museum on a day when there was a lot going on in the area so had to park quite far away as the police re-routed us for a bike race right by the museum. That being said, it allowed us to have a nice walk in the nearby park and through the Museum of Art (which is... More
