Winter Getaway

It was a short stay at the Lodge just after the New Year. The Lodge was quiet, beautiful and an easy place to get to. It had been over 25 years since I had been to Salt Fork as... read more

Beautiful winter day and beautiful lake. The Lodge and cabins are set back about 7miles. It truly does feel like you are "away from it all".

My husband and I decided to do a quick mid week winter getaway near home to an Ohio State Park. We chose Salt Fork State Park in Cambridge, Ohio. They had great rates for their rooms so we took advantage. Our room was very nice, clean and we had a beautiful view! After traveling we arrived at the lodge at... More

Our group makes an annual pilgrimage to the Salt Fork Cabins along the lakefront and the accomodations are always well cared for and modern, yet rustic. Dining at the lodge is also a highlight of our weekend.

This is our go-to place for breakfast on Saturdays when we stay a Rockyfork for the weekend. We are always telling everyone how good the food has been over the last year or so. Unfortunately, our latest visit was just average. The credit card machines were down and patrons had to either pay cash or charge to their room. The... More

While most people probably visit the park in the warmer weather, don't miss the opportunity to go at other times as well. My hubby and I did 2 of the trails and while it was brisk and a little slippery, it was so beautiful and quiet, such solitude, well worth braving the chill. If you want to get away from... More

It was a short stay at the Lodge just after the New Year. The Lodge was quiet, beautiful and an easy place to get to. It had been over 25 years since I had been to Salt Fork as a kid. I regret it has been so long! We will return for a longer stay with family!!

To get negative out of the way first. Lady at front office needs a different job not working with the public. She is not friendly at all. From reading previous reviews this park seems to have an issue with the attitudes of the staff. I do like all the trails, though the woods are a bit scrubby, with lots of... More

We were not the only ones. Nothing if marked, and could not find anything. Left before we got lost in this maze if nothing. We here it is great for horse back riders, but beyond that it was a total waste of our time.

Every fall my two sisters-in-law and I go on a girls' overnighter. This is the second time we have chosen an Ohio State Park Lodge. Salt Fork Lodge is large, comfortable, and secluded. We enjoyed the cozy lounge area with fireplaces and the cabin like atmosphere. Off season November made the site very quiet. Our room was comfortable. The restaurant... More
