A very good variety of animals, such as mountain lions, grizzly bears, tigers, otters, eagles and monkeys.

I took my 4 small children here on a trip sponsored by a organization in our community. The was a nice little variety of animals, including a few my kids hadn't seen before. The paths were all in great shape and I had no problem pushing my double stroller through the zoo. Not the biggest zoo out there, but it... More

My grandkids, two of my daughters and I took in the zoo fun at Chahinkapa, last weekend! The zoo is clean, nicely organized and the array of animals to observe is wide! We get down to the this zoo, from Fargo, once every summer. I highly recommend this for a great day of fun for the family! Take a picnic... More

I prefer this zoo as I have small children. You have close access to all the animals and can feed a lot of them too.

I've talked to many people that come down to Wahpeton to take in the Zoo and park with their kids. It has competition with the Fargo zoo, but I think they're both worth taking in.

We always take our Grandkids to Chahinkapa Zoo! They love to watch the Otters swim. The monkey's are a big hit too. Have quarters along so you can buy corn to feed the ducks. Last summer we spent 30 min. watching the bears run around and jump into their pool.

The kids keep asking when we can go to the zoo again! I went a few times growing up and now I was able to bring my kids. Big enough to spend a few hours, small enough were younger kids can walk the whole time and not get crabby. Also visited the carousel, the guy running it was super friendly.

This was a lovely little zoo! I was pleasantly surprised by it. Beautiful scenery, nice animal enclosures, great variety of animals for a small town. This is a definite must if you have time passing by Wahpeton, ND. The only thing that bothered me was the restrooms. I visited during a weekday by myself. There were a few other visitors... More

This is a really nice surprise for a town of this size. The zoo has 70 different species of animals, but over 200 for a head count. Nice size, not too big, and not too small to keep the interest of the younger children. There is a carousel that has been refurbished that is worth the $2 donation per person... More
