Rodney and Andrew Fox have worked with great white sharks for over 45 years. This all started of course, with Rodneys miraculous survival following a shark attack in the early 1960's. These days, it is Andrew Fox, Rodney's son, who runs the expeditions and Andrews passion, understanding and hands on experience with great white sharks is quite unprecedented worldwide. Each expedition is not just an adrenalin rush like no other, we will introduce you to the sharks that you see. We know, name them and profile them through our Fox Shark Research Foundation. This exists 'to inspire the appreciation and understanding of great white sharks through research and education' and before you know it you will be helping us identify the sharks on your dives! Our trips are not just all about sharks however, and we will always look to snorkel or dive with the extremely cute and photogenic Australian sea lions and take a tour around the beautiful Neptune Islands in our tender boat to visit the New Zealand fur seals that live there. Life at the Neptune Islands is explained in our onboard great white shark biology and research talks as is the seasonal changes and seal breeding patterns that occur there. Our expeditions only run when there is a good chance of seeing great white sharks who are seasonal visitors to the area. We also understand that it is unrealistic to expect great white sharks to appear as soon as we turn up, so with our slightly longer trips, although we can never guarantee the sharks, we do have a very good and very high success rate. Due to our responsible operator history we also have a ministerial exemption to use berley to attract great white sharks to our boat, which is absolutely essential for successful great white shark viewing. Our small guest numbers on-board (max 12) allow lots of cage time and so long as all guests are getting a fair and equal look at the sharks, you can just stay in there! No dive experience is needed for our surface cage diving and our dive master crew will give you a briefing on how to breathe underwater if you have not done this before. For qualified divers, our world exclusive ocean floor cage diving is quite addictive, here we take you to the floor of the Southern Ocean to see great white sharks truly in their domain with a huge array of other fish life including huge smooth rays, eagle rays and blue gropers! Accommodation onboard includes a large comfortable saloon and 6 twin/double en-suite cabins and enjoying a night of star gazing with a glass of local wine after a beautiful sunset is the perfect way to relax after a thrilling day! We also offer special rates for surface cage diving or topsider viewing only can help you learn to dive! Please email us if you have any other questions about our expeditions and we look forward to hearing from you and hopefully seeing you out with us and becoming part of the Fox Shark family. « less

Took a 4 night expedition on the Princess II with an incredible crew. The food on board was plentiful and tasty. The cabins were clean with enough storage and space for the time we were aboard. The staff were knowledgeable about all aspects of the sharks and their behaviours. The shark presentation was interesting and informative. I enjoyed this trip... More

I've just come back from an amazing trip with these guys, and I want to live on this boat! Friendly, helpful staff, incredible food at every meal. Comfortable, spacious cabins and I haven't even mentioned the sharks yet! The crew were both knowledgeable and passionate about the Great Whites, and keen to encourage the protection of them. We were given... More

At least 12 individual Great Whites showed up including 4 "super females" larger than 5 metres in length. Over the 3 days of diving we saw sharks on every single dive with lots of action and close up views. Learnt heaps about the sharks from the very knowledgable crew who ran a really tight ship. The twin share accommodation with... More

Had an amazing trip, got to see many different sharks including the giant super female Great White Sharks. This is the best and safest way to see white sharks, the ocean floor cage diving lets you see them in a different light, they are more relaxed and graceful to watch not crazy man eaters which is how they are portrayed by the media... This was an experience of a lifetime one to cross off the bucket list ! The team were really friendly easygoing and made me feel at ease even though I was a very inexperienced diver. Andrew Fox defiantly pushes his experience to the limit to get "that shot". Braving the cold was well worth it as we got to see... More

Wow - what an experience. This Expedition was the highlight of our trip to Australia from a tour perspective!!!!!! We boarded the boat Friday Evening after being picked up at the Marina Hotel by some of the Crew and Andrew Fox himself. The weather was rainy, snotty for a good bit of it, but we made the best of it... More

Three years in a row and already booked on for next year! We had it all this year. Perfect conditions, able to dive with the Australian Sealions, BIG GWS and inquisitive juveniles. The bait handlers/shark wranglers were so good they didn't lose one bait to the sharks over the whole trip!! We couldn't have asked for a better crew. Everyone... More
