We called in at The Unique Egg on our way out of St George and we are so happy we did. Stavros was a wonderful character and so talented. He loves to chat and we loved hearing his stories about how he came to Australia and his time in St George. A truly wonderful shop and a must see.

when you go to view this mans creations I can advise take your sunnies as the lights are very bright inside the shop to show off the layering of the emu eggs. Wear light clothing, when its hot outside the lights inside generate lots of heat, even with the air con on.

For $5 per person you get entry to see Stavros collection of carved emu eggs. Short video prior gives a story on him and his very interesting life. But the room of eggs is just an amazing sight and definitely worth the $5 to see such unique art!

This was a great experience to see the talent of one man and what he can do with these eggs. It truly is an amazing site to see the different designs that he has carved on these eggs. This is a must see if staying or travelling through St. George.

The Balonne Sports Store is an unlikely spot to find beautiful art work but is indeed the location for dozens of beautifully carved emu eggs. The delicately carved eggs are the work of Greek immigrant, Starvos. Starvos has had a colourful life that is recorded in an entertaining Power Point presentation. Starvos is on hand to explain his unique techniques.... More

A must see for all travellers to St George. Over 150 hand carved Emu Eggs which are then illuminated to show their beauty. An amazing collection you must stop - allow 30 minutes to talk to the craftsman, see his video and view the Egg Room.
