Wonderful place to visit. We focussed on walking, including the various trails around the immediate area eg. Bicton Hill, Ulysses trail, Clump Point and the Kennedy track at South Mission beach. It rained for 4 days, but the walks were still achievable. Many nice little food places in Mission Beach and Wongaling.....

We stayed on a weekend and the weather was beautiful - beaches beautiful and the markets in Mission Beach (held 1st & 3rd Sunday of every month) were excellent.

Beautiful clean beaches in a totally unspoilt part of North Queensland. If you love finding those magical quite tropical places to stay this is the place for you.

This is a lovely spot which I like to visit as often as I can as a Cairns local. There are stinger nets at the beach and gorgeous restaurants and cafés. The kids loved playing in the pool at our caravan park, meeting cassowaries and beach combing.

Interesting cafe's & information centre with statue of a cassowary but we missed seeing a cassowary in the street by 2 days.

Stinger net during the wet means that the beach is very shallow and therefore the water is quite warm, but not to worry you can just lay back in the shallow water and take in the view of the Family Group of Islands including Dunk or watch the skydivers falling from the sky.

Mission Beach was full of beautiful sights with the beach and the rainforest but you couldn't go in the water cause of the stingers. I did several rainforest walks which were fabulous but whenever I asked for suggestions of things to do I was told about things many kilometers away in other towns, sometimes halfway back to Cairns.

We only stopped for a coffee to see the beach and spend a few minutes. It was amazing. I will never forget the feeling I had when we went there. It is so vast, there is hardly anybody around so it is just you and the wild Pacific Ocean. I would never stayed overnight there as it is very expensive... More
