Stinger net during the wet means that the beach is very shallow and therefore the water is quite warm, but not to worry you can just lay back in the shallow water and take in the view of the Family Group of Islands including Dunk or watch the skydivers falling from the sky.

Mission Beach was full of beautiful sights with the beach and the rainforest but you couldn't go in the water cause of the stingers. I did several rainforest walks which were fabulous but whenever I asked for suggestions of things to do I was told about things many kilometers away in other towns, sometimes halfway back to Cairns.

We only stopped for a coffee to see the beach and spend a few minutes. It was amazing. I will never forget the feeling I had when we went there. It is so vast, there is hardly anybody around so it is just you and the wild Pacific Ocean. I would never stayed overnight there as it is very expensive... More

There is nothing to do in Mission Beach. It's a small village in the middle of nowhere. Only skydiving is a popular thing to do here.

Great beaches, food and people. The fish and chip at the Fish Bar were great. The Licuala Lodge is the best B & B ever.

Coming in from Cairns most people go north to Port Douglas but I'd definitely encourage you to go south to Mission Beach. The place is beautiful - the beaches are clean and the locals are very friendly.

This is the archetypal tropical beach fringed with palm trees. Beautiful. I just wish you could swim anywhere along it but you must be careful & keep to the stinger nets in Queensland.

You feel like you are in a wild place. You need a car if you want to buy more to essential. Be careful with the stingers.
