Mission Beach is a lovely spot. We only had a short visit but the food there was amazing and a nice area to get some good photos.

Took a walk down to the beach from Sanctuary Retreat and wasn't overwhelmed by this beach. The area I went to was deserted. Overall, the beach simply didn't live up to other beaches I had seen in Australia (or at least the part of the beach I was at).

I have been living in Wongaling Beach a suburb of Mission Beach for 17 years and it has been the best decision! We do depend a bit on the weather but when the sun is out it is an amazing place to be. Two cyclones in 5 years have made some changes to the scenery but the local community has... More

This beach is a dream. I stayed here three days and enjoyed it so much. There are a lot of beaches and they are so peaceful and beautiful that you don't want to leave them. The combination between sea, sand and trees is breathtaking. I did a skydive and the view over this place blew me away. In my view... More

Loved Mission Beach! We are usually north of Cairns or on Magnetic Island but this time tried Mission Beach for a weeklong get away to escape Melbourne winter. So glad we did. In addition to the beautiful, uncrowded, soft sand beach (perfect for morning walks to the cafes in town), there is so much to do - beautiful walks in... More

If staying at caravan park near beach, bbqs & shoreline, great for those wanting to unwind & a relaxed feel. We just drove through stopping at a couple of beach locations (1 with the pier) & the views were pretty. Little strip of local shops, nice fish & chip shop called Cafe Bites Fish & Chips & Pizza.

Mission Beach tropical north Queensland is approximately 2 hours south from Cairns. It is a tranquil seaside village and is the closest stepping off point to the Great Barrier Reef. Most traveller's who have found Mission Beach simply fall in love with the tropical rainforest, white sandy beaches and clear oceans. The view across the ocean leads you to the... More

Stunning, stunning, stunning part of the world. Feels remote enough but with plenty to do to keep you occupied: skydiving, Barrier Reef trips, loads of hikes and; decent amount of bars and restaurants, but not so many that you feel like it's "sold out" to tourism. A good balance. Waters as azure blue as Zanzibar but cleaner!
