DJ was an informative, pleasant and knowledgable guide. Time passed so quickly. Viewed turtles, crocodiles, wonderful plant life and stunning birds. Great value. A genuine delight.

Whilst waiting for our cable car ride we saw a sign for this attraction and decided to give it a go. A wonderful meander round the river. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The children were thrilled with the sightings of crocodiles and turtles. Amazing how quickly the time went. Very good value for money.

A nice escape to nature once you've worn out the hustle and bustle of the markets. Steve was a fantastic guide - pointed out several crocs, turtles, and a lot of the local beautiful bird species while telling us about the interesting climate and environmental conditions of the local area. A Kuranda must!

Away from the market stalls and cafes up the village, Captain DJ showed us the natural beauty of Barron river and rainforest. We saw crocodiles sunbathing on the river bank, turtles and fish feeding beside our boat. A relaxing and informative cruise. To find the riverboat, following the sign down to the river from the train station, walking in the... More

Steve, the tour operator, had lots of stories and kept our two grandchildren busy. We saw Rainbow bee eaters, Snake necked Darter, swallows, Black Duck, Tortoises, fish and a Johnson River Crocodile! Brilliant photos with my Nikon and all three generations LOVED it. Thanks Steve. Highly recommended.

It is a 45 minutes boat journey in Barron river. The guide was nice and gave information about Kuranda and the region. Although it was a rainy day, We were lucky to see a crocodile.

$18 for the 45 min boat ride. The guide was a local and gave insight to the rainforest and vegetation. He was relaxed and light hearted. Saw some turtles, fish and ducks along the way. We saw 3 freshwater crocodiles sun baking on the banks. Definitely would recommend for the cheap price.

Thanks DJ for an informative and pleasant experience. It was great to see the turtles, fish and a very small crocodile. Oh, I nearly forgot the resident house birds. The price was very reasonable for the amount of time and information that we were given. I highly recommend this experience.

DJ the captain/guide was really welcoming, made you feel really relaxed and charges only $15 for this trip which IMO is much better value than any of the heritage train or skyrail tourist packages. DJ knows so much about the surrounding wildlife, and was full of interesting facts. We saw three crocodiles and he stops to feed some fish and... More
