So myself and 4 others hired a car in cairns central to drive to Kuranda. It cost us $49.50 for the day which was well worth doing as it would of cost $11 each by bus. We first wanted to visit the Koala Gardens as we all have never held a koala before seeing as the previous zoo we went... More

I visited Kuranda with my two children. It was a very fun experience. I absolutely loved the rainforests in the area. Even though my youngest child was a bit bored while on one of the many walking trails, me, my husband and my eldest child loved it. the village was very nice and the food tasty. I ate a kangaroo... When we were in Cairns Australia, we took the Tropic Wings Ultimate Kuranda tour. It was fantastic! We drove to Freshwater train station from where we were staying in Port Douglas and met the tour there. You can also have the bus pick you up from your hotel. We boarded an old fashion open air train at 8:30 a.m. and... More

We took all day tour Tjapukai, Skyrail, Kuranda and Scenic Rail. Tjapukai (Aborigines village) is a little bit touristy. Tour was nice, but I did not see a lot of Aborigines there at all (looks as a part time job for the students). We both loved the face painting they did to us. Skyrail was FANTASTIC. It was organized very... More

Take the train from Cairns up to the township Kuranda.. Se the great little township with all it's attractions. The train from Cairns takes about 1/30 to 2 hours. It stops at some great photo taking spots on the way up, so that folk can get off, go for a walk, and see the great scenery, water falls etc. This... More

Originally we had purchased the “Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Day Trip from Cairns”. Unfortunately the Cable car had been out of service during our stay. Having rented a tiny 4-seater car the day before, the next morning I decided to drive to Kuranda, Village in the Rainforest. The ride itself was absolutely a thrill, especially for those who have been driving... More

I suggest going to the train station and buy a single train ticket to Kuranda. Please remember trains leave at 830 and 930 am from Cairns. To get to the train station you need to go through Cairns Shopping centre and the car park. When I was travelling they were doing a buy one get on free option, which saved... More

Quaint Aborigine village, with lots of arts and crafts, a short distance from Cairns. The village seems to be open from 10am - 4pm so plan accordingly
