If you are looking for something to do in Cairns North Queensland try the tourist train from Cairns station to Kuranda in the hills. Take the train up and the Skyrail back down as the best way to do it. Kuranda is a lovely village with lots of interesting shops and plenty of things to do. Don't miss the skyrail... More

Took the Skyrail up and the train back to Cairns. Kuranda is full of interesting shops and things to do for visitors on all budgets. Lots of eateries, galleries, knick knack shops, local crafts and things to see. Easy to while away a number of hours just mooching around. Where else in the world do you get to see 'Thongon... More

We rode the gondola atop the rainforest with stops to get off and walk around. Each stop had lovely views and wood walkways to stroll through the trees. The loading and unloading of the 4 person gondolas is efficient and easy. The signs are clear as to which way is up or down. The town of Kuranda is touristy but... More

We were looking forward to our sky train adventure booked the the above firm at a cost of $129 (bear in mind the train aspect of the trip is $39 and the Sky train is $49 the remaining $41 is for pick up and drop off) we went up on the train which has amazing views but is very hot... More

We witnessed Gondola Ride with great views of natural beauty. In Gondola only 4 persons can sit. We also show Coral rift, one of the best sight seeing spot in Cairns. We also had a ride in rain forests. While having Gondola ride your Photograph is taken by the local photographer and on conclusion of your Gondola ride they put... More

We enjoyed a 4-passenger gondola ride over the rainforests north of Cairns, and enjoyed the magnificent views out to the Coral Sea and over the forests. This was a two-part ride, and we got off after the first leg to take a little walk in the rainforest...very nice. Once in Kuranda at the end of the ride atop a mountain,... More

So myself and 4 others hired a car in cairns central to drive to Kuranda. It cost us $49.50 for the day which was well worth doing as it would of cost $11 each by bus. We first wanted to visit the Koala Gardens as we all have never held a koala before seeing as the previous zoo we went... More

I visited Kuranda with my two children. It was a very fun experience. I absolutely loved the rainforests in the area. Even though my youngest child was a bit bored while on one of the many walking trails, me, my husband and my eldest child loved it. the village was very nice and the food tasty. I ate a kangaroo... When we were in Cairns Australia, we took the Tropic Wings Ultimate Kuranda tour. It was fantastic! We drove to Freshwater train station from where we were staying in Port Douglas and met the tour there. You can also have the bus pick you up from your hotel. We boarded an old fashion open air train at 8:30 a.m. and... More

We took all day tour Tjapukai, Skyrail, Kuranda and Scenic Rail. Tjapukai (Aborigines village) is a little bit touristy. Tour was nice, but I did not see a lot of Aborigines there at all (looks as a part time job for the students). We both loved the face painting they did to us. Skyrail was FANTASTIC. It was organized very... More
