We are a locally owned an operated horse riding establishment located in Kuranda - a short breathtaking drive over the wet tropics ranges north west of Cairns. We are located on a rainforest property, in a wildlife corridor that is home to many native animals. Our horses are sourced loacally and we currently stable 25 horses of various breeds, and suitable to all riding abilities. We even have ponies for the kids. Our operation is very family friendly, unique and offers a personalised horseback experience to remember. We take out a maximum of 6 riders per group, teamed with guides who have many years of horse riding experience behind them. Whether it be an adventurous ride, a casual stroll, a couples getaway or a family affair, we have a tour, and horses to suit. We operate all year around, and cant wait to share our passion of riding with you !

When we arrived we found the horse riding area a little hard to find but we met a very friendly local (a big Brahman bull) before a gentleman directed us in the right direction. We went on a half day ride and as we (my daughter and I) had never been on a horse before, I was a little nervous.... More

We did the sunset experience where we rode into the rainforest and stopped on a ridge to take some photos whilst the sun was setting. We were in a group of 6 with two guides and my husband and I got to split off for a bit with one of the guides to ride a bit faster which was nice.... More

I couldn't go and look at the horses before I booked the trip. A look at the hooves tells you the story already. These horses are badly kept, scruffy and just a means to make money. My friend was so keen to ride that I didn't want to spoil it for her and we didn't cancel. When we cantered up... More

We booked Billabong Horse Riding Kuranda on December 31st 2013 because we liked the tours they offered and the location. We had got up early, dressed and just about to leave our hotel to catch the bus when Billabong called us to cancel. Really annoyed they left the cancellation until the last moment.

Dear customer, Granted that this tour was in fact cancelled, it was based on unfortunate circumstances where a staff member was hospitalised only hours earlier with a severe life threatening condition. Unfortunately it was only apparent when staff did not arrive for work, and found out from a family member. As no alternate staff were immediately available due to seasonal... More

The place where Billabong located really like a paradise. There is a beautiful lake, fine grass, little houses! About the horses, they are so clever, and noneed to concern the safty. Our guide kattiy was a nice girl, she gave us a nice trip inthe rainforest. the manager also let us teach him some Chinese. 所以大家都可以去啦!! 真的很不错。 那个景色啊!太美了!!跋山涉水!!那个马很听话!鼓励大家体验!!

I love the horses from the first sight! They are very pretty and smart creatures with their own personality. In the tour, you have a chance to experience the beauty of rainforest as well as riding. If you never ride a horse before, this is the tour for you! ^_-

Had such a great experience with Billabong horseback adventures. Have been to horse riding places in the past but this one topped them all. Gave all riders in-depth instructions about the ride and created a group atmosphere working together throughout the ride. Would definitely recommend anyone to this company.

Beginning After our elder daughter's on-line booking we found our way to the Billabong Farm where we met Tom who gave us hats and our safety brief. Tim who rode with us, introduced each of us to horses we would ride, adjusted the stirrups then showed us the basics of controlling the horses. The horses we had were Leo, Rocky,... More
