In amongst nature

This was a fairly easy hike to history, along a track and surrounded by nature. Fabulous view at the top.

Bring your water bottle and your camera! There are great vistas and we spotted two wild koalas. There is a water re-fill point about half way up.

Pretty walk with some breathtaking views...although spent so much time peering into the trees looking for koalas, almost strolled off a cliff a few times!!

Just the right length of walk, between 1.5 and 2 hours return. Some ups and downs with stairs, but nothing our 4.5 year-old couldn't muster. Great views from a number of different vantage points, with islands near and far, and also large parts of the coastline. Informative displays for those interested in the island's wartime history. Highly recommended!

Very historical and interesting. Loved seeing koalas lazing in the trees as we were walking and taking in the view.

We walked the Forts Walk, because we were advised that was the most likely place to see the wild koalas. We went in the late afternoon and we saw two Koalas, so cute. The views were also amazing,

The council have done a great job of installing information posts along the walk since I last did it about 15 years ago. We got some great pictures of the island and learnt a lot about the history. Walking at an average pace and stopping at each sign post and marker took about 2 hours return. Recommend going early in... More

Good opportunity to watch wild koalas in the trees. Short and easy walk. Take some water with you in hot weather conditions, you will need it.

We spent about an hour and a half on our leisurely walk and thoroughly enjoyed the informative signs along the way. We last walked this about 20 years ago when there wasn't much information along the way. This time there was lots of information and I think those responsible have done a great job in presenting tHe information in a... More

Lovely walk that was very well signpost with WW2 information about the fort and interesting things about the surrounding landscape. It was a fairly easy walk with stairs that go up and around the fort. The whole walk takes about 2 hours, but that included wandering around the remains of the fort. At the beginning of the walk that is... More
