On these magical tours, Aboriginal Elder, Willie Gordon, takes guests to his ancestral rock art, high in the hills above Cooktown. Here he shares the meanings behind the art, explaining how the paintings speak of the essence of life and the lores of his people. With his great smile and infectious laugh, Willie gives an amazing insight into Aboriginal society and shows how we all have a spiritual connection to land, wherever we come from.

Happened to be in Cooktown for a conference and took the opportunity to do this tour. Can't recommend the experience highly enough. Willie shared the 'story line' of his clan group's country and history. The walk was conducted at a leisurely pace, and suits any level of fitness-wear sunscreen and appropriate shoes. Willie wove the stories of his ancestors and... More

This was the third time we've been on Willies tour and each time has been fantastic. We've taken friends on two tours and they all loved it. would definitely advise anyone going to Cooktown to take a trip with Willie for an entertaining, informative and educational day

Willie was open, he shared intense personal experiences - that made him vulnerable, personal, truthful and very available on many levels. He noticed open sores (wounds) on my hands and so showed us how to extract and use healing sap from a blood eucalyptus. I laved my hands with the sap and could feel it working for a full week... Our tour guide, Willie, was a real pleasure to be with for the entire trip. From the moment we were collected from our accommodation we felt at home, getting to know each other and learning about Willie's past, the present, and future hope - as we are one people learning to live happily, together. If you are looking for greater... More
