I went jungle surfing in mid 2011 during a short stay 'up the coast' (I'm a Cairns local). This is quite an interesting way to see the canopy of a rainforest. It's exciting, but don't expect it to be overly adrenaline-pumping (unless you're scared of heights....in which case your heart will be racing the entire time! :P ). Each section... More

This was an adventure. The guides were young and fun. The only hard part of this adventure was the first 300 or so meter walk to the first landing. Then it was all fun. On the last 2 runs, they let you go crazy and even go upside down. Even a 5 year old would be able to handle this More

My husband and I really enjoyed doing this. Go in the morning when there is a smaller group. I think it's good value - everything in this part of Australia is expensive, it's expensive to run businesses so far north so it's to be expected. More

A really well run operation, very safe and with great guides who are knowledgable about the rainforest. The zip-lining is fun but, as others have said, there can be a bit of waiting around between runs. This gives you a chance to soak up the rainforest sights and sounds, so not necessarily a bad thing. Wouldn't call it high-adrenaline, but... More

When we read about the jungle surfing we had to do it right away. It was a big drive from port douglas so if you have kids id advise stopping half way and getting lunch to try and break the drive up a bit. The idea is fun but once you get there you spend most of the time clipping... More

I grew up in Cairns and have always wanted to try this. The only thing that held me back for so long was the fact that I always thought you needed to make your own way to Cape Tribulation. Although Jungle Surfing themselves do not offer transfers outside of cape tribulation, Jungle tours (http://www.jungletours.com.au/cape-tribulation-tours/go-jungle-surfing-tour.html) have recently opened this market and... Really good time. The only thing that holds me back from saying great is the waiting in between each run. With a bigger group they try to break you up but you still end up waiting for others and it can break up the adrenaline rush. It's also a little pricey, but what isn't in Australia?!? More

We had a great day out driving up into the Daintree and sailing through the trees! The guides were a wealth of knowledge and made it very interesting in between turns. The whole set it with the equipment make you feel very safe. Everyone ended having a great day with some great photos taken, even those that said they were... More

Seemed very well run and it was enjoyable, but I didn't feel this was worth the money ($90/person). The fun was also reduced because much of the time was spent waiting for those ahead to use the zip line. Further, I think some cheaper/free activities (e.g. swimming in the waterholes?) or another rainforest walk might give a similar or better... More

We did this on the advice of a friend and we were really glad we did it! If you have never done zip lining before then this is a great introduction as its not too long or too fast. They encourage you to different things and hanging upside down in the rainforest was honestly a fantastic experience. The guides were... More
