Despite we saw quite a few animals (snakes, lizards, crickets, frogs,...) me and my partner where very disappointed by the tour, and here is why: (1) 80% of all animals where not found by the guide, but by others. The guide often just passed by the animals, was not looking in trees, etc but was rather concentraiting on the track,... More

If we could give this a zero we would. It had rained HARD all day and my husband and I were pretty sure we would not see much (we are biologists) given the heavy rain and wind; the tour should have been cancelled. The guide was rude, telling my husband he had to walk at the back because of his... More

I've done many jungle night tours across the world, and unfortunately this was one of the worst. The guide admitted that it was rare to see that many animals, and seemed resigned to that fact rather than trying to look for many. The animals are there, and I found many more than my guide, you just have to look for... More

Being a local of Cape Tribulation I was reluctant to go on a night walk as I figured I had see the forest at night. We were lucky enough to get a close look at some forest dragons, sleeping birds, butterflies, spiders & bats & learn about their relationship with the forest. The guide Brendon had extensive knowledge not only... More

We did not really know what to expect having never walked through a rainforest at night however, we were very pleased with the walk. The guide was very knowledgable about the forest and it was especially interesting to stand in the pitch black and listen to the rainforest. The walk was long enough to have a chance to see some... If you stay at any lodge in the forest, you can see much more animals around you. The tour focuses on the explanation about rainforest mostly plants. Too much explanation and very little experiences. Not necessarily the night tour. All we could see are small lizard, eel (my wife found it), frog, tiny glowfly, and cockroach.

I decided to do this activity as there isn't much else to do in Cape Trib. The group was only me, 2 girls, and the guide. I had a fantastic time, on a good 2 hour walk or so. Saw quite a lot of interesting things: spiders, lizards, hollow trees, glowing logs, fireflys. You've got to remember it is in... More

I went on this tour without expectations and was pleasantly surprised by an awesome experience. Our guide for the evening was Angie (a professional biologist from Germany who has lived in the Daintree for the last 5 years). From the outset Angie told us that it would be hit and miss if we saw animals, but I was hoping we... More

We went to this activity knowing that it was going to be difficult to see any big animal as in Cape Tribulation is quite hard to really find a Cassuary or a Tree Kangaroo. Anyway we finally saw a snake (the guide was extremely excited), a spider, ants and shining fungus. It could be OK because of the noises of... More

The highlights of this walk were not so much the nocturnal creatures seen by torchlight but the senses that came alive once the torches were out, including seeing luminescent fungi on the bark of fallen logs. Our guide was Julie, the young American, who was enthusiastic and knowledgable about the rainforest. Much of what she pointed out could have been... More
