Not what you expect

It was ok. You kind of expect to see animals (having been on plenty night walks down south) but only saw one dragon, which I had seen one of during that day, and a snake. I did... read more

I loved my Night Walk adventure. Our guide, Ian, was extremely knowledgeable - I think he said he had about 16 years experience in the field? - and he explained things brilliantly. High powered flashlights are provided, and the trail is quite easy although you do need to keep an eye on where you're stepping as there are rocks and... More

I really enjoyed the night walk. It was a unique way to experience the rainforest (particularly as the rainforest stops included on the Cape Trib Tours are all boardwalks). We were led along a trail in a group of 10. The guide was fantastic and we were all involved with spotting the animals ourselves. We saw a white-kneed cricket, Boyd's... More

To be clear this is not a review for the flying fox course through the canopy which we also did and enjoyed. The same company conducts night walks on floor of forest. When our guide picked us up she said that it was very dry (in Sept) and the night tours had not seen much in recent times. I appreciate... More

We started off walking at 7:45 after being picked up at 7:30. We did not see much.. Only a bird sitting on a branch.. A lizard.. And that's it! We paid $45.00 and there was ten of us.. Way to many people. Because there was so many people there was a lot of noise. This was a total rip off.... More

I would recommend this to anyone spending the night in Cape Tribulation. It's an incredible experience to walk through the forest at night, irrespective of how much wildlife you encounter during the walk, and provides a very different perspective to that seen during the day. I learnt a great deal about the different types of spider webs encountered along the... More

We were really looking forward to this night walk, in one of the oldest forrest in the world, unfortunately this was a bit disappointing. The guide was really skilled and gave excellent answers to the questions. But the real downside is that we did not spot the wildlife, except 2 small spiders and a bird. We paid 45 AU$ per... More

The best thing was saw was a little bird sleeping on a branch. The kids were little champions considering the boredom. The only thing making it exciting was the darkness and anticipation of possibility. All this said, it was a coldish night in July. So perhaps things are far better in other seasons when it's warmer.

This $45 pp night walk seemed quite scripted and you could learn more about the plants on one of the free boardwalks nearby. For a night walk, you would expect to see wildlife, but I see more possums in my backyard in Melbourne. In the end, it was all about plants, which you couldn't even see at night. After I... More

Family of 3 did this walk on a day where it hadnt rained (thankfully). If it had been wet, the path would have been very slippery and quite dangerous. Not an easy walk - lots of rocks and vines to step over. We saw very little on this walk - a bird, frog, and a couple of spiders and insects.... More
