This half day eco tour visits two different snorkel destinations, each with an extraordinary array of marine life and coral species. The tour begins at Cape Tribulation beach where guests board the newly built vessel bound for the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef. After an exhilarating fast ride of approximately 25 minutes guests are ready to snorkel two fabulous locations at Mackay and Undine Reefs. On most days the rainforest can be seen along the mainland beach whilst snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, home to an abundance of marine life as well as beautiful hard and soft corals. The Ocean Safari vessel takes a maximum of 25 passengers allowing guests to experience tropical paradise and the pleasure of a small group. The vessel is based on the original design of a rescue craft and is a rigid inflatable boat driven by 700hp engines. The experienced Skipper and Eco Host ensure the trip is filled with fun and appreciation of the Great Barrier Reef and the coastal rainforest of the Daintree, two world heritage areas side by side. Magical memories like these sometimes only happen once in a lifetime. The Ocean Safari check in office is the Boardwalk Cafe, Cape Tribulation Road and a courtesy bus pick up from Cape Tribulation accommodation is included. Ocean Safari has advanced Eco Accreditation. « less

I have done several snorkeling tours to the Great barrier Reef over the years, but today's Oceansafari tour from Cape Tribulation was the best. A small group of people, only 25 (that is as biog as it gets!), a local guide (Jason) and local skipper (Caine) on a wonderful, relatively small boat. Boat ride to the reef only half an... More

The only thing I can add to all of the other rave reviews: It´s always interesting to see how companies react when things don´t go to plan. On the morning we were booked to go, a tree had blown across the road, preventing the skipper from getting to Cape Trib. on time. The staff were great, throwing in free wet... More

We had done a quicksilver snorkeling trip to the reef and ocean safari beats it for service and uniqueness. Our captain Caine, was so knowledgable and spent time going over the sea life with us. There were maybe 20 of us on the boat and the only ones at the reef. We saw so much more sea life and tons... More

They are the only company to take people to this reef and you can tell - the reef is in amazing shape. It is sooo pristine and vibrant with so many colors. We saw a huge variety of fish and some turtles and rays. Water was crystal clear and calm. Boat ride down is fun and the crew friendly and... More

Fantastic experience. Swam with turtles! I have snorkelled with Poseidon in Port Douglas and although it was good, Ocean Safari is like going on a trip with your mates. Music on the way out, fast small fun boat and a low numbers in the water. It is obvious that the operators love their job and the reef. Must do activity... More

We booked our day out on the reef based on the other trip advisor reviews and we were not dissapointed!!! The day was wonderful, it was raining on the shore as it does in the rain forest but as soon as we got out on the boat it cleared up to a lovely day. The boat ride was so much... More

says my 9 year old son. This time we wanted a different experience from the big boats heading out from Port Douglas and Cairns. Small group (less than 30), individual attention, enthusiastic crew. Great trip out and back - like a rollercoaster said Mr 6. Fun to launch from the beach. Saw turtles and rays. Crew were great with kids,... More

We booked Ocean Safari on a recommendation as we were staying at Cape Trib and luckily had 2 spaces left. The boat trip out was a bit rough due to the weather but the skipper Cade did a great job of not knocking us about too much and getting us out quickly. Jason talked us through what we might see... We had a fantastic day with Ocean Safari. The weather was fantastic which really helped. I loved the shorter boat trip, plenty of time to snorkel. So many beautiful things to see. They were really great with our kids too.
