Owner description: Ocean Safari offers an exhilarating ride to snorkel the pristine untouched Great Barrier Reef off the Daintree Coast at Cape Tribulation. This half day eco tour visits two different snorkel destinations, each with an extraordinary array of marine life and coral species. The tour begins at Cape Tribulation beach where guests board the newly built vessel bound for the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef. After an exhilarating fast ride of approximately 25 minutes guests are ready to snorkel two fabulous locations at Mackay and Undine Reefs. On most days the rainforest can be seen along the mainland beach whilst snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, home to an abundance of marine life as well as beautiful hard and soft corals. The Ocean Safari vessel takes a maximum of 25 passengers allowing guests to experience tropical paradise and the pleasure of a small group. The vessel is based on the original design of a rescue craft and is a rigid inflatable boat driven by 700hp engines. The experienced Skipper and Eco Host ensure the trip is filled with fun and appreciation of the Great Barrier Reef and the coastal rainforest of the Daintree, two world heritage areas side by side. Magical memories like these sometimes only happen once in a lifetime. The Ocean Safari check in office is the Boardwalk Cafe, Cape Tribulation Road and a courtesy bus pick up from Cape Tribulation accommodation is included. Ocean Safari has advanced Eco Accreditation.

As you go further north from Cairns and beyond Port Douglas, there are less people, boat tours get smaller and the marine life gets better. I'm so glad we found Ocean Safari because it was the best snorkeling we experienced on the GBR (MacKay Reef). The staff were great and had everyone laughing and having fun yet they were safety... This was an unforgettable experience, the reef was stunning and we couldn't have asked for better guides, Cam and Jase. They were very knowledgeable about the reef and species that inhabit the area. They answered all of our questions and were light-hearted and fun. This was my first snorkeling experience on the Great Barrier Reef and I am hooked for... More

This snorkelling trip is by far the best we have done from mainland Australia. The trip to the reef is fast and tremendous fun, leaving right from the beach. The reef itself is well stocked with turtles, sharks and fish as well as some beautiful coral. Perhaps not as much sea life as at Heron Island but still plenty for... More

I can't say anything negative at all about our experience with these guys. We booked the day before and they offered us one of the new cabins next door for a very reasonable rate. The tour itself was fantastic, saw heaps of turtles and fish and only 25 minutes to the reef. But the best bit of all were the... More

Breathtaking corals and sealife! We stayed just across the road at PK's, so a nice easy stroll to the Ocean Safari Base. The staff here are super friendly and helpful. We stopped out on the ocean before making it to the reef for a brief history lesson on the Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef from Skipper - Kane -... More

Overall our experience with Ocean Safari was fantastic from beginning to end. The booking experience was super easy and staff were always keen to offer advice and answer questions. My partner and I also stayed at the Jungle Lodge run by the same people so that meant we were given our stinger suits for free for the day! Cam the... More

Had such a great time on a day out with ocean safari. We saw some amazing parts of the reef that i didn't think existed any more. We all saw turtles, rays and other tropical fish. The snorkel instructor was fantastic and showed us all things we would have missed otherwise. Its nice to meet people who care so much... More

My boyfriend and I were recommended this half day snorkeling trip by our travel agent and it was absolutely brilliant! As a first timer the smaller group appealed, you really get a special intimate experience, plus our guide Cam was an absolute legend! Pretty much the closest we came to a real life crocodile dundee in our 3 years in... More
