Description: Ocean Safari offers an exhilarating ride to snorkel the pristine untouched...
Ocean Safari offers an exhilarating ride to snorkel the pristine untouched Great Barrier Reef off the Daintree Coast at Cape Tribulation. This half day eco tour visits two different snorkel destinations, each with an extraordinary array of marine life and coral species. The tour begins at Cape Tribulation beach where guests board the vessel bound for the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef. After an exhilarating fast ride of approximately 25 minutes guests are ready to snorkel two fabulous locations at Mackay and Undine Reefs. On most days the rainforest can be seen along the mainland beach whilst snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, home to an abundance of marine life as well as beautiful hard and soft corals. The Ocean Safari vessel takes a maximum of 25 passengers allowing guests to experience tropical paradise and the pleasure of a small group. The vessel is based on the original design of a rescue craft and is a rigid inflatable boat driven by 700hp engines. The experienced Skipper and Eco Host ensure the trip is filled with fun and appreciation of the Great Barrier Reef and the coastal rainforest of the Daintree, two world heritage areas side by side. Magical memories like these sometimes only happen once in a lifetime. The Ocean Safari check in office is at the Turtle Rock Cafe and Jungle Lodge, Cape Tribulation Road and a courtesy bus pick up from Cape Tribulation accommodation is included. Ocean Safari has Advanced Eco Accreditation.

We had a fantastic morning with the Ocean Safari team, getting the chance to snorkel in two different sites. The crew were excellent, sharing local information and taking the time to snorkel with us showing us the best places to spot certain fish. At the second site I was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of seeing turtles in their... More

We had done a snorkelling tour at the Low Isles with a small company a couple of days before, and had really enjoyed the experience, so we were worried that we would be disappointed to go through a different tour operator. However, Ocean Safari were fantastic. The group was small, the tour guides clearly had a passion for their job,... More

This is such a unique snorkelling experience, one which I would recommend any traveller wanting to escape big ships and enormous crowds! Firstly two tours run a day (dependent on weather and time of year), and you must reserve in advance as it can be heavily booked not so surprisingly as there is only one tour from Cape tribulation that... Ocean Safari was recommended to us by a friend who had done a tour previously. We (mum, dad, 2 kids aged 12 and 10) are so glad we went with Ocean Safari, and not the huge boats with hundreds of people we saw coming in and out of Port Douglas. We had only 9 people on the boat, so we... More

The guides were great ... a big focus on safety in the water and also teaching us about the reef and how to minimise our impact on the reef ... a real 'eco' tour. Jason was great showing us turtles, clown fish, and teaching us about the coral and life on the reef, while Kane gave us all a great... More

After having enjoyed the ocean rafting trip in the whitsundays I expected great things from ocean safari and I was not disappointed! Our group size was small (only 20) meaning that for the not particularly experienced snorkellers like myself we were able to get proper guidance from the crew. Kane and Jason were super knowledgeable and were able to identify... More

You dont need to go far to see the most amazing beauty of the great barrier reef. Ocean Safari is very good because it is a small boat with very few people. 25 I think... It is completely different from those boats with 300+ people. Negative: We saw no turtles Negative: Never eat at the turtle rock cafe. Worst place... More

This was a wonderful reef trip to take with my two boys aged almost 9 and 11. The guides were fabulous and informative and really helped them get their confidence in the water. They were very knowledgable about what we were seeing and what we could touch. The two sites we visited were excellent. I would highly recommend this trip... More

Have you seen a wild turtle before? Yes. Has it ever stayed long enough for you to stare into their eyes? Not really until now. Ocean Safari was well worth its price. They picked us up from Cape Tribulation Beach House and drove us over to the check in office. Hungry? They have a little cafe with coffee and snacks... More

We had a great visit to the reef with a very friendly crew. Around 25 people on the trip. They took good care of us and we had the fabulous experience of swimming with turtles. Very good value for the money and a very different experience to Port Douglas etc. Enjoyed the Cape Trib experience and this was the best... More
