The gardens themselves were very nice With some areas to stroll around however, while we were there they were trimming trees in a few different areas with chainsaws so the peace and quite was well and truely disturbed. Quite a hilly areas in some parts but there is a scenic drive that you can take the car around. Would like... More

A must walk around through this beautiful treed garden. The elm trees, the colour and peaceful setting is just gorgeous. The lookout has a great view. There is a café but I didn't check it out.

The Botanical Gardens are a few minutes drive from the Main Street ( or a pleasant stroll uphill), on the top of Wombat Hill. On entering it is delightful to drive through huge trees giving an indication of the age of these gardens. There is a circular drive around the gardens but the right hand turn after the entrance leads... More

This was one of the last places we visited during this trip to Daylesford as it was recommended by a local gallery owner and it did not disappoint. The scenic drive in, the climb to the top of the memorial tower, the rotunda, the tuberous begonia display and the joy of kicking your feet through the autumn leaves. It is... More

The cafe is in a lovely setting, friendly service - what you expect from The Lake House people. I had flatty tails and chips - perfect for Good Friday, with a very nice pinor noir.

These gardens are right next door to the Convent Gallery and Cafe. You can walk them , right up to the Water Tower for some nice views over Daylesford or you can drive up to the top and do it the easy and quickest way. Very nice spot to visit.

We drove through the gardens and then went for a bit of a stroll around. Gorgeous gardens and a lovely area on a wonderfully sunny day.

I found the gardens to be very pretty and tranquil. There is a loop road you can drive around the gardens, but this was closed for maintenance on the day we visited. We had a short stroll from the car park past the fern garden (which was also closed). The highlight was the greenhouse full of begonias, which was absolutely... More

Very disappointed.. I really wouldn't call it Botanical Gardens.. more dead and unkempt gardens. Really nothing pretty at all. The Café also closed earlier than the advertised 4pm.
