Great views, lovely trees

Climb the lookout tower for some amazing views of the region. Marvel at the varieties of trees. Enjoy the shade on a warm summers day. Visit the cafe for good food and coffee.

Not too much to see here unless you fancy a brief walk or an even briefer drive around this hill-top park. There's an old viewing tower which didn't look particularly appealing.

These gardens are a well-kept secret, full of beautiful old trees, a fernery with waterfall, and a changing palette of bulbs and flowers. There is a rotunda, a lookout tower, picnic tables, ample seats & lawns and an easy stroll or drive around to enjoy panoramic views. Nested in the centre is Wombat Hill House, a cafe run by the... Unfortunately we made it here at the end of our stay in Daylesford but we did have breakfast at the cafe which was fantastic. Beautiful grounds within the gardens to wander in. Next time will make sure we spend more time here!

Lovely gardens, a real haven. We did t use the cage but looked lovely. Be sure to climb the tower and take in the views. Morning views are spectacular and the park us very peaceful mid week.

The restaurant (well, clever café) is at the top of Wombat Hill set in the gracious nineteenth century botanical gardens. IOt has a good choice of indoor and outdoor tables and friendly staff. There's a simple choice of simple dishes and some designer pizzas - I had the potato one which was fresh and tasty. There's the usual choice of... More

Beautiful place in the heart of Daylesford, it is a sanctuary! Such variety in trees and other plants. Plenty of places to take a breather and take it all in. Everyone visiting this area should take time out in these gorgeous gardens. We would highly recommend it to family and friends.

We visited the gardens today with little expectation (often a good idea). We were surprised to find a memorial tower at the top of the garden. We climbed the very narrow, circular staircase to the top to enjoy the beautiful view. Unfortunately some bored people thought that graffiti would enhance this beautiful tower (disappointing!). The grounds are a lovely place... More

Was surprised to find Wombat Hill. Someone in 1860's had a lot of foresight to plant trees a size of which you don't see in Australia much. Views were great and the tower is well worth the climb. Didn't get to the Cafe.
