We enjoyed our trip down Blue John Cavern very much. The cave itself might not have a lot of blue john stone on display but the guide was very amusing and made it all very interesting. In response to a review complaining about the local accent of the guide - my husband isn't a native speaker of English but he... More

Excellent day out in Castleton, visiting the blue john cavern. The tour guide was knowledgeable and informative, the two young boys with us loved the tour and the guides descriptions of some of the rock formations. Plenty to see in the numerous caverns, including the famous veins of blue john stone and some old but very small stalactites.Well worth the... More

Took the grand children and they were fascinated. The guide was very informative and interesting. All the children were asking questions and he was happy to answer. He was also telling us about Castleton and it's history. Once you had finished in the the cavern there was plenty to do and see in Castleton. Make sure you take a look... More

A big thank you to our tour guide Katy for taking us around the cave. Our children absolutely loved it and so did my auntie. We will Definatly be going back again soon. She went above and beyond well worth the money. And we got to have a peek in their workshop too.

Despite reading some of the reviews on here last night, we decided to take our chances, and we are very glad we did! Our tour guide, Chris, was interesting and informative and we have all come away with some new knowledge. I couldn't say whether we chose the best cavern but we had a great time, saw lots of blue... This is the largest cavern in the area and had the longest tour. It's fantastic if you're looking for a huge cavern, just know that there's very little actual bluejohn in it so that can be misleading. Still it's the deepest one and very, very impressive.

Tour guide very knowledgable, made it interesting, think its Brian, little with glasses. If it hadnt been for him id say rip off. But he at least knows his stuff. Sadly far too expensive and just another case of milking people of cash. I really should learn !!!

If you are looking for an adventure and have not seen a cave, this is one of the caves to go. A good small family adventure. For 4 adults and 3 children it costed as £53, but worth the money. This is not for someone who has seen a lot of caves. The scenic beauty around the area is also... More

At £30 for a family the tour is not cheap and the caves themselves are nothing special - very few stalactites and no stalagmites, plenty of flowstone. (And we've done a fair few of these so I know!) The guide merely led us round describing a few key points but gave very little history and had no anecdotes which really... More

Went on the tour, the guide was simply going through the motions and clearly didn't like children.. I would not recommend to families
