Love the scenery and vibrant stream. The walking is relatively easy but wheelchairs can not access the path by the river. The air is fresh and clean and the views both up and down are spectacular.

We were fortunate enough to be walking Dovedale on a beautiful sunny April day. For some reason I had not managed to get there and it had been some years since my wife and friends had done the walk. An easy, flat walk for the first mile or so and nothing too strenuous after that. Magical walking across the stepping... More

Great walk...about 6 miles here yesterday with family and two dogs, lovely views/ scenery, and even though busy in the car park not crowded at all. Started with a lovely cuppa and cake at the snack van and got a guide at the National trust trailer, which was most useful. Saw dippers (never seen before) and yellow wagtail, all enjoyed... More

We were only there to see the famous stones, lovely area, easy access, cheap car park only £2.50 for the day. Choice of footpaths to reach the stones. Get there early to miss the crowds !!!

This was my favourite walk during my time in the Peak District. The scenery is stunning and it's lovely walking alongside the river. The stepping stones are good for a photo op but if you want a bit more of a challenge then climb the hill that's right next to the stepping stones. The views from the top are brilliant... More

We visited on a lovely day with our 2 children aged 3 and 2. It was busy but half term always is everywhere! We climbed Thorpes cloud and as you can imagine this was a risk with two young children with one recovering from chicken pox. However with a bit of carrying up the hill the kids absolutley loved the... More

Brilliant for a day out, lovely walks and good facilities in the car park area, We had quite an adventure the day we were there because it was on a lovely day after a lot of rain so the river was over the path in places, thankfully there was 8 of us and not everyone minded if their shoes got... We only had a whistle stop visit so enjoyed a nice climb with breathtaking views at the top. We didn't see any signs though, which would have been handy as we missed out on the stepping stones. Next time will be better prepared with a decent map....

I guess this place is just way too popular. We got their fairly early so the walk up to Milldale wasnt so bad . Very nice little cafe "Pollys " at Milldale end , with super pies/ pastries ..tea and coffee etc. We were quite shocked with the amount of people we passed on the return leg to Dovedale carpark... Despite the large amount of visitors, it's a great place to visit. Great base for many walks, including an opportunity to walk up Thorpe Cloud. Dove Dale encapsulates everything about the Peakdistrict.
