We came her on Sunday and it's so lovely. We Parked at the main dovedale car park, £2.50 for the day, we got there at about 9.30, which I would recommend as it was nice and quiet, the stepping stones were lovely and so pretty! The walk on the way to milldale took about an hour and a half as... More

First word of warning - if you want to visit here turn up before 10.30am if you want to use the car park next to it, or later in the day. When we arrived on foot it was already rammed at 11am! We took the more leisurely route which I highly recommend. I used postcode DE6 2AZ and parked for... More

Spent a week with the family in the Peak District. My wife had been here before and suggested seeing the Stepping Stones over the River Dove. As luck would have it, it was a beautiful day. The car park fee was inexpensive (£2.70 I think) and plenty of room. Having a 6 wk old baby and 16 month toddler in... More

Easy walking along maintained pathways. Suitable for most except perhaps not wheelchairs. Great for children to explore. The stepping stones are a particularly entertaining way of crossing the river but, not the only way. There are many other good walks in the area.

Not the most beautiful place in the UK but very nice, would recommend as part of a flying visit to the Peak District.

Went to Dovedale with my family of eight over three generations. Firstly, this is a very popular place. Be sure to get there reasonably early to get a local car park space. Cost is £2.50 all day. Then, it nothing other than walking in varying degrees of effort, following the path of the River Dove. Remember, you have to walk... More

Walked from the carpark at Thorpe to mill dale and back. Would recommend starting early in the summer holidays as gets very busy at the car park stepping stones end. Really beautiful walk lots of wonderful things to see on the way. Genuinely special place

If you have the chance, you must visit Dovedale outside Ashbourne Peak District. The walk is wonderful and the views are amazing. It's approx 3.5 miles to Mildale where there is a lovely small cafe/shop to stop and have a coffee/tea cake etc then just walk back the way you came. Don't forget to cross Thope Cloud. Again a beautiful... More
