A lovely day out here. Car parking is £4.70 all day (or about £3 for 2 or 3 hours), or at the moment you can get a free day parking pass if you sign up for paperless billing for your water. A lovely picturesque walk. Educational visitors centre. Great fun for adults as well as children - "guess what's down... More

Recently went here as part of a weekend in Ashbourne. It is one of biggest reservoirs I have visited and I would like to have stayed longer did n't realise how large and didn't have enough time after already being in bakewell in the morning. Thought the car parking was a bit expensive compared to the other ones I have... More

Visited whilst staying at a nearby campsite, lovely area for cycling or walking, the circular route is about 8 miles long, we did find that the food and drink at the visitor centre was a bit expensive and on a hot day it would be very popular .

We went with other friends and children armed with a picnic and BBQ. This place has lots to see and do with ample facilities for a fun family day out. We stayed all day till around 4 pm and thought it great value for money as all you pay is the cost of parking which was around £4. The children's... More

Stopped off for a couple hours to break my journey and, despite it being school holidays, I had no trouble parking; £2.50 for 2 hours. I had a browse round the visitor centre and enjoyed a scrummy ice cream; reasonable price but slow service due to long queue and only one person serving. Thought the prices in the RSPB and... More

We arrived quiet early (9:50) and had no problem at all parking, but by lunchtime the car park was really filling up fast. £4.70 to park for the whole day was not too bad. It was a glorious sunny day and we had a very nice walk round the lake then we called in at the cafe for a drink... More
