On our cycle route

There is a nice bike track and walk around the water. The coffee is very good. Toilets immaculate. Not keen on the shop - just the usual tourist tat.

I've lost count how many times we've been to Carsington. We generally hire bikes when we visit as its a lovely place to ride around. Advisable to pre-book bikes first thing, before you arrive here, as we have been very disappointed before when told there were no bikes left for hire. Separate biking and walking trails are a very good... More

A lovely place and the only reason I have not rated it as excellent is the £4.70 all day car park charge. This is my 4th visit to Carsington Water over the years, but my last visit was a weekday when most people are at work and children are at school. What a difference that makes, because the place was... More

The parking isn't free (something like £2.50 for 2hrs or £4.70 for all day), but once paid you get to spend a lovely time walking (or cycling) around the water's edge, watching the boats and the ducks. There is also a restaurant, various places to get drinks/ice-creams as well as some more upmarket shops. All in all a great place... More

The visitor centre is very informative and there are lots of "hands on" buttons to amuse young and old alike! Lovely walks, cycle rides or seats for relaxing & watching or listening to the different wildlife all around. also very inquisitive swans who come up and say "Hello"! Lots of information along the walks too so very educational for all... More

On a recent family holiday in the area we decided to visit Carsington water and weren't disappointed. On arrival we parked at the vision centre with a large car park and immediately headed to the cafe for refreshments. The cafe has an excellent view of the water and the cakes were fantastic! We then headed for a walk around the... More
