The cheese shop itself is super with a range of cheeses to suit every pallet from the soft through smelly to hard. Large cheeses, small cheeses, round and square- it has it all.... More

The Lake District is blessed with Cheese Shops of all descriptions. But this one is a little bit special. The owner (i think) was a very nice guy who was passionate about cheese. The shop itself is basically a temperature controlled chill room (have never seen anything like it before). The selection of cheese has been very well thought through... More

What a lovely shop. Passed a lovely 20 minutes in this shop talking to the owner, he was happy to let us try any of the cheeses we fancied. A must is the marmite and cheese loaf, my other half loves marmite and I don't but he said ermmmm!!!! Again a absolute must for any foodies.

The man behind the counter said he would leave us alone to browse, but please if you need any help or advice, or indeed if you wish to sample a particular cheese just let me know. This alone was a refreshing change from the usual way some... More

Just got home after 3 hour drive from lakes with cheese bread and pies from the Cartmel Cheese Shop. All 3 on a plate with some salad from the garden. Perfect.

Visited here in July and had a lovely hour sat in the sunny courtyard. We bought gorgeous bread and cheese from the shop and wine from the shop opposite! Absolutely beautiful cheese and once finished we went back in to buy more to take home! Lovely location and next time we'll visit the micro brewery in the yard! thoroughly recommend... More

These for me was a fantastic find as we originally were not going to Cartmel, there was a food market on in the and after noticing signs at he road side about the market we decide to go Carmel and have a look. The village has very tight streets and parking can be hard in the village but I would... More
