I love cheese and this is cheese heaven, so many to choose from and the best bit is that you can taste before buying. Staff are so knowledgable about cheese it is interesting just listening to them describe each different one. Not just cheese here, but bread, savoury rolls, chutney and pork pies to choose from.

Great little shop with a vast array of cheeses to choose from. As I am pregnant I was a bit nervous about what I could and couldn't eat, but the man who served us was so friendly, understanding and knowledgeable that I trusted his suggestions immediately and walked away with 2 delicious blocks of cheese - which were eaten within... We went her after seeing the previous reviews and were not disappointed. The cheese selection was excellent and the guy who served us was very knowledgable. We bought 3 different cheeses, damson jelly and olive bread to eat for lunch outside. The brewery next door was also able to provide plates and cutlery. Definitely worth a visit

We discovered this little shop whilst exploring Cartmel, a lovely, little village, with lots of interesting shops. The gentleman behind the counter was very knowledgeable and we were able to 'taste and try' before we settled on a delicious Lancashire cheese.

We almost missed this. Fantastic range of cheeses that we could taste before buying. Found a magnificent cheese called Ogleshield and even brought some home with us. Very good deli adjacent to the cheeses. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. This is one good reason to visit Cartmel.

Had a lovely lunch of bread, cheese and olives with a chance to sample each cheese and the leftovers wrapped up for us to take home very tasty and great to go with the beer from the next door brewery

We went to the cheese shop on our way home , the choices were enormous and we sampled several cheeses before buying any . The gentleman serving us was fantastic , very knowledgeable and extremely friendly , asking what sort of cheeses we liked , and pointing us to to the cheeses that we liked . He didn't rush us... What a fantasic shop, we sampled lots of amazing cheeses then purchased a few also crackers, sour dough, chutney and cakes, the pepper cake is the most amazing cake I've ever tasted, and to eat it with the cheese you have to try it to believe how well they taste together! Was so good had to go back the next... More

A Oasis for Cheese lovers. Proprietor took time explaining various cheeses which included a small sample. The cheeses we opted for were extremely tasty. Highly recommended.

This is a small specialist shop in Unsworth Yard in the centre of Cartmel. The cheeses are well presented and look delicious. We were some what put off by the shop assistant who followed our every step and seemed intent on pressurizing us to buy. As we were returning home the next day we decided against making a purchase.
