PLEASE NOTE THAT ALTHOUGH THE GARDENS ARE OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK, THE HALL IS ONLY OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON TUESDAYS, SUNDAYS AND BANK HOLIDAYS. Arley is a place of enormous character, charm and interest. Visitors are frequently struck by the warm and intimate atmosphere and the feeling that Arley is a much-cherished family home. The Gardens, which are amongst the finest in Britain, are outstanding for their vitality, variety and historical interest and are particularly celebrated for the magnificent double herbaceous border. The Hall is an impressive example of a Victorian country house built in the Elizabethan style.

I would not recommend this place. The staff are very very rude talking about customers when there backs were turned. A very disappointing place it could be so nice but unfortunately it wasn't very expensive to pay £4 to walk in a muddy field. Avoid avoid avoid.

Charlotte, I was sorry to read that your visit was so disappointing. Knowing that our Grove and Woodland Walk has been affected by the record rainfall over the last 6 weeks, we have opened up the formal gardens which have lots of gravel paths for our visitors to make use of, was this explained to you at all? Did you... More

The Hall only opens on Tuesdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays but the spectacular gardens are open all week from March. For me, the herbaceous borders are the highlight but all of the gardens are wonderful. The family chapel, behind the Hall, is also interesting. The Tudor Barn cafe is also good and there is an excellent plant nursery.

We visitied on a coach trip - we normally go to Chatsworth but had tired of their lack -lustre displays and ludicrous prices. Arley was a pleasant surpise. The flower arrangements varied from traditional to innovative - and the scents were very evocative of Christmas. The displays ranged from stunning through to challenging - and the amazing 'Snowman' and his... More

Today I visited the Christmas flower display with my mum, it was a nice display, but not worth the £7.50 per person. BUT...The BIG disappointment was in the barn restaurant. We ordered coffee's. ...which once they arrived were ok, but the big issue was the mince pies......at £1.20 each I would at least expect a mince pie equivalent to a... More

I visited today 29/11/15 with my daughter Daisy who is 9 and completely obsessed with Disney's Evermoor chronicles. Some of the filming takes place at Arley hall, Daisy was thrilled to see a wicker statue that she said was called Esmerelda? The house is beautiful but unfortunately not open to the public today. We will return next week so Daisy... More

We went to the hall with no expectations and were very presently surprised. The entrance fee is ~£8 per person for adults and entry is through the gift shop. The gift shop exits into the courtyard looking into the clock tower, a very impressive wooden structure, the Tudor Barn restaurant / tea room and a function room running a looping... More

Went with a 2 for 1 voucher, I live so near this place but never been. What a beautiful House and gardens, we were lucky enough to catch the guided tour, the rooms are wonderful and I was surprised to discover Napoleon had actually stayed there. The Gardens to are wonderful but never got to see them all. We had... More

I was given the grand afternoon tea as a Christmas present and was so glad to have chosen Arley Hall today to use the voucher. The gardens were stunning in the autumn sunshine, with glorious colours everywhere. The tour of the hall was excellent, the guide was very interesting and informative and clearly enjoyed sharing his knowledge with the group.... More

House and Chapel well worth a look. We went on the woodland walk and through the gardens. Even though it was the end of September there was still plenty of plants and colour to see. Nice restaurant with very friendry staff. Would like to visit again next year, perhaps in Spring.

I have been going to Arley Hall gardens as an occasional visitor for years and have always enjoyed the fantastic garden with beautiful vistas and famous long borders which seem to look amazing all year round. My children have always had a wonderful time exploring the nooks and crannies and I would not hesitate to recommend an afternoon out there... More
