Visited on a Sunday afternoon, the centre was quiet, only a couple of people were visiting. When we arrived it was about half 12. There was a sign up saying there was a flying display at 1pm at an additional cost of £3. We decided just to pay the £3 entrance fee rather than waiting to see the display and... More

I took part in a 3 hour bird handling session and had a wonderful time. The falconry expert was just that, very knowledgeable and made you feel very comfortable about flying the birds from the outset. Within the 3 hours there was a short introductory talk about what to expect and how to approach the experience, flying to the glove... More

We went as a group of about 12 and combined this with segway. The whole experience was truly exceptional. The falconry experience was simply outstanding. The two guides were fantastically interesting and they had a great raport to go along with great knowledge and humour. (Lucy was hilarious) We flew two owls and a Harris Hawk, all totally different characters.... More

Did Walk on The Wildside. Was absolutly brilliant! Lucy was so knowledgeable about the all the birds and the woods. Beautiful woods and birds were brilliant. Not so well behaved but that added to the fun. Much better than I thought, I'd you are in area book an experience!

This was my first visit, and I will be returning. The staff were really helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. The lady who was our falconry experience 'guide' was completing a Masters degree in Zoology and had been a volunteer at Cheshire Falconry for over 3 years - anything you needed / wanted to know was explained/answered simply, clearly and with good... I visited the falconry on a weekday and paid £3 to get in. The only thing to do there was look at some birds over a fence, no one offered to let me hold one or even tell me anything about them. The pet shop a few doors down is more entertaining and it's free!

A remarkable experience coming face to face with some beautiful birds. You not only get to handle these magnificent birds of prey but have the whole experience enriched with some very knowledgable falconers who take great care of the birds on display. You manage to come face to face with hawks, owls and if you are lucky on the day... More

The star of the show is Rob, the birds are just feathered assistants used to illustrate his brilliant educational and hugely entertaining monologue. This was our second visit. Having had an excellent time on the “Meet the birds” morning my wife and I wondered if the “Eagle Experience” could maintain the standard. Well, Lucy and Rob excelled themselves. It’s an... More

This was booked for me as a surprise. The staff were very helpful and friendly and obviously enjoyed their work and were extremely knowledgable. We were lucky the morning we visited as we were the only ones booked in. We were allowed as much time as we wanted looking at the birds in the cages and it was explained to... More

I recently visited the falconry center at Blakemere. We only visited the birds in the cages so I cannot comment on the flying experience. The aviary was like a Gulag for birds! I found it deeply upsetting as did my daughter. The birds were existing in almost bear enclosures with almost no enrichment. There was a member of staff cleaning... More

Hi, in response to your comments , our aviary collection of birds of prey are maintained to the best possible standard .I dispute with you the statement you made .Our birds breed and produce healthy offspring in the aviaries . I feel you should have spoken to a member of staff ,who would have explained why birds of prey are... More
