We enjoyed a 1 1/2 mile hike to Cascade Falls, saw a harbor seal from Mt. Constitution, and later saw a magnificent sunset from a pull-off on the road down from Mt. Constitution, while looking at the peaceful hills of the San Juan Islands

Taking a trip to the top was worth it in and of itself. The views on the clear day we went were breathtaking. You could watch boats passing through the channels and see almost the entire island, worth the drive.

Moran State Park is not to be missed when visiting the San Juan Islands. The forest is beautiful and the views from Mt. Constitution are fantastic. There is a stone tower at the summit which enhances the views above the tree tops. Being in late Sept. it was quiet. The summer months can be crazy here with visitors.

This was our favorite spot on Orcas. We hiked up from Mountain Lake and loved the trails - really nicely maintained. The view from the top of Mt. Constitution is stunning. Well worth a drive up to catch sunset, the colors over the mountains are gorgeous.

We stayed three nights at the park in mid-September and were very disappointed. The park has some beautiful scenery, however, the park is "over loved". If you are looking for privacy and vegetation, you won't find much of it in the campground itself due to basic over use by people. We stayed at the North end campground and you would... More

Orcas Island is a beautiful place to begin with. I have an adult daughter who has been living on the island for several years, so I've had an opportunity to visit 5 times in the past few years. I am an avid trail runner and there is scarcely a finer trail run to be found than the 5-mile trail around... More

Even on a drizzly day, this park was well worth the visit. The Mountain Lake hike is four miles of amazing. If you prefer a bit less strenuous, go the counter-clockwise route. Either way, it's a very easy hike and STUNNING. Check out the waterfalls too!

Went here completely on a whim and loved it. I was driving along the Washington coast a decided to jump on the Ocras Island ferry and had the good fortune of getting the last open campsite at the park. Stayed for a few days and loved it.

We only had a short time to visit so we headed strait to Mt Constitution. At 2400 feet elevation you can see forever! The San Juan Islands dot the water and Mt Baker is big and beautiful. We were there for sunset and it was breathtaking! Don't miss this if you are on Orcas Island!

We drove up to the top of Mt. Constitution where we enjoyed breathtaking views while eating a picnic lunch. The helpful guide at the top recommended the hike around Mountain Lake, and it was absolutely gorgeous! The hike took us a couple of hours at a modest pace, the trails were wide and easy to traverse, and views of the... More
