Make sure to make time to drive to Moran State Park on your visit to Orcas Island. Could easily spend a full day or more here. Take the road to the top of Mt. Constitution and climb WPA tower for many great views. For sure try to be here for the sunset - amazing views of Mt. Baker and on... More

This is hands down one of the best state parks anywhere. There are a variety of trails from easy to difficult. Hiking Mt. Constitution (difficult but so worth it!) is such a satisfying experience. The views from the top (which you can get by driving up, but are SO much better when earned by traveling on foot) are honestly some... More

Take a drive to this location on Orcas island, take the road to the top of Mt. Constitution, then climb the WPA tower for the AMAZING views. Overlooking mountains and bays, mist, and clouds, it provides a feast for your eyes. Definitely a highlight of our northwest trip.

We have camped here before and really loved it. This trip we camped on a different island and made a day trip to hike to the top of Mt. Constitution. The consensus was that although you CAN drive to the top, the view is better appreciated and lingered over longer if you make the trek up the steep switchbacks. (Not... More

If you wish to hike in the park, I recommend getting a Moran State Park brochure. It gives information on the most popular hikes, where to start them and which direction to go. There is also Cascade Lake where you can go boating & buy Lopez Island Creamery ice cream. We saw a lot of deer in the park. One... More

We drove to the top of Mount Constitution, because we were short on time. The view was stunning. We also stopped by the falls for a quick hike.

Whatever you are looking for, you will probably find it at Moran Park. Most either drive up to or hike to the summit of Mount Constitution, but we first stopped at Mountain Lake for an easy 4 mile round trip hike to the falls. The lake is beautiful and the foliage is lush beyond imagination. Take your time to see... More

A very nice park that can easily be overlooked on a trip to Orcas. It's really worthwhile to take the drive up Constituion Mountain for the fantastic view. Also, the leisurely walk around Montain Lake is a good way to stretch the legs.

This beautiful park offers swimming, boating, sightseeing, hiking, and views for miles. Atop Mt. Constitution you can see the islands in all their glory framed by mountains. The park was well tended and relatively uncrowded. Truly beautiful. Bring your state park pass or pay onsite.

This was our first visit to Moran State Park. The campsites are for the most part shady and well laid out. The Cascade Lake is beautiful and a perfect place for a picnic.
