There's a whole lot to see in this park, lakes, waterfalls and scenic vistas of the islands. On a clear day you can see Mt. Baker, Mt Ranier and the Olympic Peninsula. The rest of Orcas Island is scenic but Moran is the high point in my opinion. There's camping available but it's limited so you'll want to make reservations... More

Moran State Park on Orcas Island was a highlight of our trip to the San Juan Islands. We took the ferry over from Anacortes and spent about 2-3 hours in the park. The view from Mt. Constitution didn't disappoint; I would suggest driving to the top when you first arrive at the park, if the weather is favorable at that... More

The panoramic view from Mt Constitution was amazing! The drive up the mountain was very pretty as well. My husband loved all the old growth fir in the park.

Drive up to Mount Constitution and see the splendid view of the Cascades and Mount Baker covered with snow! There are tables for you to eat a picnic lunch while looking at it. We enjoyed the hike around Cascade lake, though it takes a while.

There's no secret Moran State Park, and the view from Mt. Constitution are the gems of Orcas Island. We were day visitors so we came for the view. OUTSTANDING. We'd been sailing the San Juans for a week and the view was amazing. Second only to whale watching on this trip. Well worth the $10 entry fee. On a side... More

Our family group of 13 visited this park multiple times while staying on Orcas island for a week- we just kept going back in various groups. The peak of Mount Constitution was beautiful and we were lucky to have great visibility. We spent 1/2 a day at Cascade lake- we swam across the lake to the lagoon and jumped off... More

Our family appreciates the outdoors, but we are not serious hikers/campers. This park is absolutely amazing. The trails and original cabins were made in the 1930s by the CCC and retain that charm. A trip to the summit of Mt. Constitution is an absolute must for any visitor to Orcas. We were lucky with a cloudless day and could see... More

The hike around the lake is great, can't be beat by following it up with a refreshing dip in the cool, not cold, lake. The hike is easy and flat. About 4 miles.

The weather betrayed us. I must admit my expectations were a bit ridiculous for the Pacific Northwest. Still, this park is a gem. Even amongst clouds. From the summit of Mt. Constitution you can behold the beauty that is this corner of the US. All around the park was filled with water holes galore...maybe I will return on one hot,... More
