We booked this tour as a must see ... one of the top 25 things to do on the Big Island. We have also taken a 2 hour helicopter ride all through the Waipo Valley. You do get to ride ATV's that despite being driven HARD over some very rough torrain are in decent shape. You do get to see... More

Riding ATVs on a mountain trail is clearly not for everyone. RideTheRim, therefore, is not for everyone. Our Honda Rancher 420s have independent suspensions and provide a superior ride as compared to ATVs without this suspension. Most importantly, however, is that the acreage above Waipio Valley is termed the 'rim' by local hikers, huntsman and other residents. Folks from the... More

We really enjoyed our ATV ride. Our guides were very knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts on our trail ride. The views were amazing and the waterfall was a great stop. Our guides Pat and Les were great and made the trip even more enjoyable.

We really enjoyed this adventure yesterday, although it's fun to do ATV we really liked personal touch of riding the buggy with talk story from our driving, Pat. He was very knowledgeable when he shared the culture & history. The sacred swimming hole was cold but a must do because public is not allowed without tour. The grandeur of Waipi'o... More

This was one of best experiences we had on the Big Island. We had an Awesome guide by the name of Ray who shared the history of the area as well as treating us like family. He picked fresh fruit and flowers for the passengers. He had great knowledge of the Island and was happy to share it with everyone.... More

If you love ATVs this is for you, but we rode in the buggy, and for much of the time, you're riding through a not very attractive forested area. Although the guides were really great (both knowledgeable and safety conscious) neither the swimming hole nor the stopping point with the valley view were that special. In all fairness, it poured... Our guides, Rezz and Jay were really great. I was timid at first because it had been 20 plus years since being on an ATV but they were very patient and helpful until I felt comfortable riding the trail. Riding through the forest is exciting but the real treats are the stops during the tour. The waterfalls and views of... More

We thought this would have been on our top 10 list for our Big Island experiences but it fell very short. We met one of our guides at the store where we parked, he then drove us the short 3 minute drive to the ATV's. We were first fit for helmets and given skull caps and then given a brief... More

This guest is correct. We had some employee performance issues that were definitively addressed and we are hopeful that situations like she described never happen again. More

This was our first ATV experience and it was really amazing. My wife was too afraid to drive, so she could drive along withe buggy. The guides were really nice and funny and took us to some beautiful viewpoints. Would certainly do it again anytime!

My husband and I are baffled by most of the 5-star reviews for "Ride the Rim" and wonder if we were on the same ATV excursion as most. First the good points: the guides foremost were safety-minded and friendly, and the ATVs are new(er) and in great condition, as was the riding gear (helmet and skull cap), altho we could... More

RideTheRim is sorry this rider did not enjoy their experience. Every tour is different as we take all comers - folks who are ATV aficionados as well as ATV newbies. Clearly this tour was comprised of slower newbies, who we try to put near the back so they can go slower, but it does take some time on the trail... More

An exhilarating ride on the Rim of Waipio Valley and through the Eucalyptus Forest. Would I do it all over again? In a heartbeat! It is a Bucket List requirement (my opinion) if you have the opportunity. I really enjoyed one of the stops at a beautiful waterfall with swimming hole surrounded by lush forest. Another two stops overlooking the... More
