Before move from Mahahual to Xcalak, with my wife, I did a reservation at XTC with the help of a manager of the hotel where I was. They request me to send a confirmation e-mail (and I did, immediately). But, on the follow day, when we arrived there, they simply threat us as strangers. The very unfriend manager in charge... We stayed 5 weeks in Xcalak and had the most incredible time. The diving was fantastic and although there isn't much to do in xcalak town there was never a dull moment. With friendly faces always around in the brilliant staff, the Dive master trainers, and local people. As well as a pack of lovable dogs. The place became our... More

Ic an't comment on the diving, because unfortunately I injured my back on my first evening and was unable to dive. When I first hurt myself, the staff were very accommodating and helped me find a sports massage therapist to assist. The next day, even though I was very literally the ONLY customer remaining, no single staff member could be... More

My partner and I really enjoyed diving with XTC and highly recommend them. Xcalak is a very quiet little village and extremely remote. This was part of the attraction for us, it being very relaxing and full of amazing nature. We stayed in Xcalak for only a week because we were unsure whether there was enough to warrant a longer... Trying something new can be intimidating, but with the staff at XTC I didn't feel that way once. From prior to arrival to after departure, it was a wonderful experience that I'm so glad I took the time for. Their communication via email was superb, all of the staff is helpful and friendly, and the compound overall is exceptionally clean.... More

My friend and I did our PADI Instructor crossover at XTC with Marie Peter. From the start we could tell she loved her job and was always professional, she is like Yoda when it comes to recreational scuba, and she will make sure you are ready for the IE and always has a good answer for even the toughest questions.... I have dived off six of the world's seven continents and as such, have had a great deal of exposure to dive centers around the world, many of which have been excellent. The XTC Dive Center in Xcalak, Mexico stands alone for its customer service. I arrived in Xcalak having just learned I needed to begin my return journey to... More

What a great place! Our group headed for Xcalak with plenty of groceries in tow because we weren't sure what food might be available in such a small, out-of-the way location, but we did not have to worry. The food there was delicious and healthy. The staff was all super-helpful from the moment we stepped down from our vehicle, and... More

I just got back from a wonderful trip with XTC Dive Center. I went on multiple dives and an amazing trip to swim with American crocodiles! The dive sites were beautiful and the crocodiles defy description. The staff were exceptionally kind, accommodating, and knowledgable. Everyone was welcoming and engaging. I highly recommend a visit and can't wait to go back!
