Really loved my time staying on Half Moon Bay. Beautiful beach, good snorkeling, great restaurants (loved La Buena Vida right on the beach), and I got to see the release of a baby turtle that got left behind in the nest. It was truly magical.

It's soooooooo relaxing. This is a place you must visit when you are in the Akumal area! The snorkeling is wonderful and the people are amazing. We parked our stuff on a bench, never worried about theft and jumped in the water. If you love sea life it is a MUST DO on your trip!

The bay is stunning and beautiful to walk along. Very rocky and hard to enter. There was a lot of trash accumulating along the shore, especially in front of empty lots. Had a wonderful experience watching baby turtles being released one evening.

some people say go here to do snorkelling, we went by on a boat and there was nobody on the beach, there were villas lined up along the shore, but otherwise go to akumal where all the action is.

The location is beautiful. Hardly anyone about which was nice. The bay is very rocky and have very sharp corals - it's hard to get in the sea - make sure you have sand shoes for getting in and out of the water.

This reminded me of how Akumal bay used to be. It was fairly untouched with just a couple places to eat and a dive shop. Uncrowded and beautiful.

Sea turtles and too many colorful fish to count. We saw tangs, Sargent majors, barracuda, jelly fish, rainbow parrot fish & countless others.

If you are in Akumal, rent a golf cart just inside the arches and take off down through Half Moon Bay. The different houses and condos are fun to look at, stop at one of the few shops, and then a drink at La Buena Vida on the water! You won't be disappointed...just watch out for the bumps in the... Mexico is more beautiful than I expected. We loved the resorts, loved the ocean, walking on the beach!!!!!! So happy to hear that "poaching the turtle eggs" is frowned upon and the police patrol the beaches to protect the eggs from poachers!

You are just swimming along checking out the coral, looking at small but beautiful fish and BAM, there's a giant turtle right next to you snacking on some greens. Amazing. I snorkeled there almost every day for a week and was thrilled each and every time. NOT the easiest snorkeling in the world but the Bay isn't that deep and... More
