This little local library is so friendly and beautiful and does fantastic things in the Akumal community in terms of education and promoting all sorts of creativity. The staff were so welcoming and even though we didnt speak spanish we still stayed and played with some of the kids. We had brought some donations for the library of art materials... More

This little library and literacy center is one of the most special places in the community of Akumal, MX. While vacationing in the area, do plan to stop in to meet the kids, or if you have a specialized skill that can be presented to the children, spend an hour or two of your vacation making a difference to the... We didn't know exactly where to find it but asked around. As you're driving toward Akumal center (toward the arch) it is on the left side across from parking lots. The actual bldg is a bit hidden in the trees but look for a big blue mural painting and a small white sign that says Hekab Be near the road.... More

We foreigners who travel here are blessed so why not look on their web site for their wish list of art and school supplies and bring from your country or make a donation . These kids are not given much and education is a step up . We brought art supplies from the states and made a $50 cash donation... More

Was able to volunteer for a short time today and we took 9 kids from the pueblo to the playa for FREE swim lessons. Such a well run organization. Perfect morning.

Sweet little library, doing lots of great things with local children to increase environmental awareness and sense of community. I go to Akumal often and have seen this library flourishing more and more in recent months. Give them a visit!

We called in here to find out what it was and there was no-one to talk to! As we were about to leave, the principal called after us and then gave us a detailed guided tour. There is a tourist library with a range of books to borrow, but mainly it's an educational establishment for local children. They run activities... More

Lovely little library that provides education to local children. A worthwhile cause! Donate funds or check their website and see what they need and bring it when you visit.

On a recent business event to the this area, I got to experience first hand how our Company donation gives opportunities to children & adults of Akumal. Anne, one of the driving forces to open the world of possibilities to a community of children in many different programs, excepted my visit with openness. The children taking part in the afternoon...
