This is a great spot off the beaten path. El Anclote has a nice pool area and direct skywalk to the beach area. Its completely gated and secure. We stayed in the condos and found the construction is over, i didnt smell any thing like sewer but i did see a drainage ditch that drained to the boat launch area rather than the beach. The beach itself is best for surfing rather than swimming... We were there to fish so really not so important to us. more
The little town of El Anclote where the El Anclote Condos and restaurants are located (and various other condo complexes) is not recommended for beach goers nor children, ok for surfers. The water is brown from the jetty construction, the beach front road was an open raw sewage pit, the sewage treatment plant sends the treatment down a open canal... more
We are staying in the condos El Anclote, Punta de Mita. Having previously spent time to the south of Puerto Vallarta, it was interesting to see the differences in beaches and seascapes up north. Near Playa Anclote and Punta de Mita, the sand is much whiter, and the water much bluer, compared to the southern parts of the Bay of Banderas. It's almost Caribbean-looking! Can you muster a one hour drive north on the free highway to Anclote in Punta Mita? If so, you are in for a treat. By far the calmest, most family friendly beach in the Vallarta region. We had a car, drove north for about an hour to Punta Mita, home of a few resorts, the fabulous 4 Seasons, etc.... more
Take the island tour from Anclote Beach on the sailboat Bluto. It is simply the best and most authentic Tourism you will ever get in Puerto Vallarta. David more
El Anclote Condominiums in Punta Mita....gorgeous views of the Bay of Banderas! A gated community with tennis court and wonderful pool & spa. Somewhat isolated (45 minutes to Puerto Vallarta); a rental car is nice to have (but expensive); luckily, taxis and buses are plentiful.
