The area around here has a great selection of restaurants and the mood is very laid back. The bus goes all the way from Puerto Vallarta and the road ends right up the hill from the beach. The beach is peaceful and the waves are perfect for a beginner surf instruction. We rented a boat from Oscar and went out... More

I take the bus up the coastal road from Bucerias to El Anclote. It's easy to get to, the bus rout stops there! El Corral is a great restaurant where you can spend the afternoon. No waiters rushing you. Eat, drink, take a swim, the come back for more. You actually have to ask for the bill. So stay and... More

Dined there many times. Always good with nice presentation. Friendly staff! Have had our fresh fish prepared there to perfection. Recommend trying it! Many nice restaurants along the main road with great ocean / sunset views!! Comfortable and pet friendly!!

Great food and great service! The server gave a 10% off coupon to use during our stay! Would definitely go back!

Pros: the Beach is really nice for surfing and paddle board. The sand is whiter, not like Vallarta. Cons: you only get access to the beach in certain areas. Most of the peninsula is closed. So if you are not staying at a hotel inside or going to the golf course then you have to stay in the restaurants and... More

The Swell takes a strong hurricane swell or macking southern swell to come alive but when it works, it makes for long rides off the point, great vibe in the crowds and is ideally suited for a longboard.

Nice calm beach with a good variety of local food restaurants on the cheap side but with good homemade seafood dishes. Gets a bit crowded on weekends

little spot out of the way... great 'beach' access club... (only pay about $1.30 per beer) and great food (just no chicken or beef) everything seafood. Very nice people... had a great massage next door at 'Remy's' ... the water is MUCH cleaner and more blue there... (no idea why)... great day trip!

A buddy and I dropped in here for a couple of cervezas and a little snack. Great friendly staff. Outstanding shrimp cocktail. Cold beer. Beautiful view. Dirt cheap. Worth it!

El Anclote is located at the entrance to Punta Mita. There are several restaurants, a fun beginner surf spot, a few surf rental shops, and people renting fishing boats. We highly recommend Mictlan Surf School. We rented surfboards, standup paddle boards, and took multiple boat trips with them. The staff at Mictlan Surf School are all amazing. They are knowledgable... More
