This is a fine promenade along the shore of Lake Chapala. We'd managed to be here during one of the few cold, rainy spells in recent March memory, so we were not suffering crowds, but the temp felt fine to a couple of Oregonians. There were still other sightseers, mostly families, doing the walk and enjoying the excellent displays of... More

The best wasy to start your day is walking the malecon. Friendly people, yoga, zumba and just a beautiful walk near the lake. It renews your faith in the beauty of life.

Loved watching the birds and enjoying the sunsets at dusk. The Ajijic Malacon is a wonderful place to take a stroll and admire the beauty of Lake Chapala. The park is often a hive of activity with families enjoying picnics and youngsters on the swings. Sometimes there are youth playing volleyball and in the evenings many youngsters are using the... The Malecon is one of the best and the most recent accomplishments of the Mexican people and the ex patriots' community of Ajijic. As you take a stroll on the Malecon, you can see the breathtaking sunsets over the Lake Chapala. There are kids playing and laughing, families are spending their time together, pet lovers walking their dogs and meeting... More

On some days there are several vendors (not pushy) selling handmade jewelry, weaving etc. Restaurants of all kinds are close by on the neighbouring streets if you need a bite. Plenty of space to stroll or jog if you prefer .Shady areas are available and parking is usually not a problem. Sundays are a bit too overcrowded for me though... More

We have been coming here for 4 years. It is a great place to walk. A great place to just look at the lake. But my favorite is to watch the families. If you come between 4 pm and dark, you will find the Mexican families gather here. They will eating, kids will be playing, having fun on the beach,... More

The walk along the Ajijic Malecon is a pleasure on any day, at any time. On a busy day, it's a great place to see families and kids enjoying themselves all up and down the walkway, and bbq pits line one area so that people can stay for the day. On any day though, the view out over the lake... More

Great on the weekend to see the families enjoying the beach. Very pretty, with lots of shorebirds on the lake.

The Ajijic male con is a delightful lakeside boardwalk - made out of flat, easy-to-walk-on flagstones. Evenly spaced trees spend some shade when even the lake brise is hot, and numerous benches allow you to sit and watch the many promenaders and sports fans working out on some of the exercise equipment installed along the way. The malecon is a... More
