This is such a special place and has changed the character of town completely from 10 years when I last visited and the waterfront was a weed-filled mess. How beautiful to stroll at any hour and watch little dogs with their owners, couples ambling, skateboarders and bicyclists all out having a great time. The sunset is spectacular, and especially when... More

Great scene, but busy on the weekends! Lots of activity with music, parties and food. During the week it is very quiet and peaceful.

The Ajijic Malecon is a wonder from early morning to evening. My wife and I, along with many others, walk along the Malecon for multiple laps. Besides the peacefulness of Lake Chapala, the wild aquatic birds and local fishermen contribute to the magic of the area. Weekends are alive with families, events and activities. An almost magical place.

Went and strolled along the Malecon on Valentine's Day. It was so nice to see the couples down strolling and sitting along the water. The sunset was just beautiful.

This is a favorie place of mine. It's an easy stroll along the lake and a wonderful place to take the kids and dogs. There's playground equipment, a small skate board area and even a fitness area. There are vendors selling nuts/candy/etc. What they need is a couple resturants where you could sit and have a drink while watching the... More

Wonderful place to walk or sit and watch the waves roll onto the shore. Always a nice breeze. Weekend full of family picnics, children riding bikes. Weekdays full of people walking their dogs and just taking a stroll, enjoying the fresh air.

Lots of art, art galleries, fun shops - cobble stone streets. We were staying in Chapala, took the bus to Ajijic - it was an easy trip and very enjoyable.

Bring a jacket as the wind off the lake can be chilly. Stop for coffee or lunch buffet at the restaurant near the pier over looking the lake.
