My 2nd trip here. Brought family from Michigan down and Mario's did not disappoint ! I think the family members will be back next year....

The highlight of this whale watching expedition was for me, funnily enough, the drive out over the salt flats, past the factory with its large mountain of glistening white salt, and beyond out onto a long sand isthmus. Mario's tours do an excellent job finding whales who want to interact, in the lagoon. The pongas are clean and well cared for. These are stable craft that handle the shifting weight as people lean over the side to touch and look into the eyes of these beautiful creatures. They respect their whales. Tour was well-organized and informative. Started out a little iffy when our boat ran aground in shallow water, but our guide recovered and got us on our way. Mario's tours is a family run business. Always considerate of their clients. whether in a panga touching a whale or in The restaurant "Mario's Palapa"
