This is a spectacularly beautiful basilica, both inside and out. It was built in the 1920s in the Norman Gothic style. It is a Catholic shrine, and Catholics in the hundreds of thousands come each year from around the world to visit it. Many pray for a miraculous healing of some kind and some faithful claim that they have been... More

Fascinating art and architecture - the huge scale of this cathedral means it is visible for miles around. Definitely worth a visit for the workmanship and design, which is surprisingly recent in its execution. The building was started in 1926 at a time when Canada and its people were struggling economically with just the basics of life, and finished just... More

I've been in lots of churches but this is in the top five for sure. Take some time here and be sure to go downstairs. The mosaics, stained glass, copper doors, murals, granite pillars are a testament to the old craftsmen. They are stunning. I think the blue glow of the place created ( I think ) by light reflecting... More

Our half day tour included the Shrine, Montmorency Falls and Albert Gilles Copper Art Museum. We were only an hour at the Shrine, but you should spend more time. There is so much to see, artistic masterpieces and so many people visiting. It is only a 20 minute ride from Quebec City. This is a pilgrimage site with many liturgical... More

I had the chance to visit the Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré Basilica in 2012, with two of my friends that are also in their 20's. For us this was a sort of pilgrimage that we did on Easter day. The basilica is located about 30-45 mins by car from Quebec City. There is lots of parking, and there is no fee at all.... More

Beautiful church to walk around and the grounds were very inviting. Despite the rain we walked through some of the outside grounds and are very peaceful and prayerful.

We went on a coach tour and arrived during Sunday Mass but we were able to see the lovely crypt and walk round the side aisles. After Mass we could take photos and wanted longer to see it all!

Seems like a great replica of existing European and north American cathedral. While very big and provide many architectural details, in close view sense of being way to modern, too clean...just tourist attraction. Makes nice picture in a front of fountains, though

This basilica is spectacular and certainly the most beautiful church we visited in Canada. The interior is rich with beautiful mosaics, stained glass and paintings. Who goes to Quebec can not miss this cathedral which is less than an hour away from the city
