My wife and I recently visited Quebec City. This was our first stop. It is about 20 miles north of the city on Rt. 138. I had not been there for about 40 years. It is beautiful inside and out. It is easy to see why it holds such reverence for French Canadians. The basilica has always been dear to... More

A beautiful shrine with a healing focus. Gorgeous gardens/ fountain and beautiful exterior and interior of the shrine. You can see an exact replica of Michelangelo's Pieta here. No charge to get in (donations welcomed of course).

A beautiful basilica. Pray to St Anne when in need. St Anne helps all those who are suffering and provides comfort.

I loved that Sainte Anne still rings real churchbells as a call to mass. At night, the candlelight processions and singing are worth watching and listening to, whether or not you're Catholic. If you're interested in Quebec craftsmen at their best, visiting the basilica to see the stonework, woodwork, and hammered copper doors is worth your time.

Downstairs.. Like no cathedral I've ever seen. Made me think of a nice palace. The images and tile designs very telling about Canadian history.

Although I am not a Catholic, my visit to this basilica about 30 minutes outside the City of Quebec was well worth it. The building is basically a Romanesque basilica with lots of other interesting additions from other styles. The builders used only the best and most expensive materials in its construction. Wonderful artwork ranging from stained-glass windows to statuary... More

It was a quick stop for us, especially with kids. Wish we could have spent more time visiting the grounds. But the Basilica is beautiful. Loved seeing the spires from far when driving in. The stained glass is remarkable. Definitely worth a stop, but make sure to set aside a couple of hours.

We enjoyed learning the history of the cathedral. We took time to visit around the town and drive the roads up the hills.

Basilica of Sainte Anne de Beaupre is just a 30 minute drive from Quebec City. When the bus turns in to Av.Royale, you already can see the two high towers of the Basilica that draws you to go closer to find out more about that place. In front of the basilica is a beauiful well mantained garden and fountain. From... More
