We went to Avonlea by accident, we were looking for Green Gables. We were pleasantly surprised and toured the cute little village. They had Cow's ice cream and entertainment. It was nice to see characters from the books walking about and if you arrive early you can see them set up the school house and different areas. We did play... More

So, it's rather expensive to get in here, especially for a family. However, if you are an Anne fan, you do not want to miss this experience. I was so surprised to see Anne and Diana walking down the street holding hands and to have Gilbert and Moody drop in when I was shopping. It's super fun, really nice interactive... More

This is a village built to look like the fictional village Avonlea might have been. If you have read the "Anne of Green Gables" books, you can imagine the characters here. We had only adults in our group, and while we enjoyed it, children might have liked it more. We thought it was a little too expensive.

LOVE the dress-up house, as well as church with live music. We saw Mike Pendergast. Individual buildings have their history provided, some including pictures from where they were taken apart to move to Avonlea Village & how they were reassembled.

Our family visited Avonlea Village on a recent trip to Prince Edward Island. Over the years, we have visited quite a few replica villages during our travels, such as: Williamsburg, Mystic Sea Port, and Plimoth Plantation. For our family, Avonlea Village was our favorite for this type of attraction. From the moment that we walked through the entrance, we were... More

On arrival we noted the board indicating an entry fee of almost $20 per person, wow that's rich. However, today they weren't charging any entry fee. It is almost like a film set, with replica buildings located on a couple of dirt streets. They also have a few animals in barns. On days with activities it may be worth the... More

Several souvenir shops on the exterior perimeter of the square. The interior square was closed because it was the end of the season. There is a Church, school room and some other period buildings. We were admitted free because there was no animation on site. The fee is quite pricey though in my opinion. $20.00 per person or $80.00 per... More

Although a pleasant hour or so, the high cost of admission ($22 per person) would discourage most--there isn't that much to do. There are several old buildings that were transplanted here: the church that Lucy Maud Montgomery attended, an authentically decorated home that she lived in, and the one-room schoolhouse she attended--other than that there are souvenirs and a couple... We stopped in after 5 as it is free to walk the grounds from 5-7 and really enjoyed being able to check it out before paying full price for our very young family of 6. We all enjoyed it a lot and will bring the kids back when they are a bit older to enjoy it during the day when... More

My original visit was 3 years ago. Yes, it's expensive if you don't plan on committing most of the day then it may not be worth it. It's the actors & skits that tell the Anne of Green gables story that really makes it worthwhile. It follows a schedule from Anne's original arrival at the train station till the end... More
