For anyone who has read the Anne books -- Avonlea village is a must! &even if you haven't, it's still so much fun! You don't have to be young to enjoy it. We laughed all day and even went back for a second day and had just as much fun as the first time! The Avonlea showband was excellent, and... More

If you came to Cavendish as an Anne of Green Gables pilgrimage, then it is definitely worth the admission price to visit their recreation of "Avonlea." The ideal age to enjoy is probably in the 8-10 year range; however, we were three adults who were once 8 years old and still love Anne and we enjoyed the experience. It's best... More

Beautiful way to spend the day we liked the format, the cast, the activities, the music, the food. We did not dislike anything.

We have visited this site every year since it opened (about 15 years ago). We make it a point to come back every year. A fantastic fun day for the whole family. The best family attraction in PEI (and that's saying something!). Plan to go for the whole day and take advantage of their policy to come back the next... More

We enjoyed the shows they put on during the day. Wish we had arrived earlier to see all of the shows. Enjoyed the beautiful gardens and history of some of the buildings that were moved to the sight.

Over priced for what was there. A manufactured tourist attraction. The young people in my group did not like it. Felt it was nothing like the TV series or the books.

We go every year with the Homeschool group and it is the one field trip I look forward to. It is a great relaxing day and you need to spend the whole day to get the full experience from meeting Anne at the Train Station until the Pig Races at the end of the day you can be constantly entertained... We also looked the place up and checked their website. There was no mention that the place was closed until we showed up on their doorstep. Not only was it closed, but padlocked and dead as a doornail. You'd think that if they catered to visitors from other locales, they'd bother to post their season times correctly on their website.... Childhood has many and varied memories for all of us. Avonlea Village brought me back to a place of remembering my family experience, the atmosphere both of innocence and of childhood values. It is an enjoyable and active place where actors and visitors become one in the life of an 19th century rural Prince Edward Island village. From the vignettes... More
