Went to Avonlea village expecting not much. Had an EXCELLENT day. Well worth the admission. A full day of activity.

We went when the museum opened at 10AM. The ticket office and gift shop are at the train station. Hang around here for a few minutes at opening as the various characters of Avonlea begin to appear and interact with the crowd. They act out short vignettes from the book, Anne of Green Gables. Then, they move around the village,... More

I came with 3 children 11,11 and 3. We had our lunch packed so the food cost wasn't an issue, we even had water bottles that I filled on site (always a great way to save money when travelling with kids). We had done Green Gables in the morning and my daughters and I were going to the musical that... More

We took our three year old granddaughter for the day and it was a fun filled, memory making kind of time! I would suggest this spot to anyone that wants a place where everyone gets a chance to participate and never be bored, there was something going on all the time.

Our child LOVED it. We went back a second time. The characters spent a lot of time with us and it was amazing.

Avonlea Village is not large, but definitely worth a visit - the costume shop was excellent, with outfits of all sizes. You can dress up; be sure you take your camera and have pictures taken in the carriage, or having tea. All included in the entry fee. Really nice craft shops - most items made locally, read the history on... More

We visited Avonlea Village b/c my youngest child won us a family pass from Cows Creamery. I'm glad we didn't spend the money on it. The potential for a truly magical & historical experience was overwrought with commercialism. There is only one food option which is Moos. Overpriced grilled cheese. I am not sure if you can bring your own... More

Visited this before visiting the Green Gables historic site, and should have done it the other way 'round. Avonlea Village has a number of relocated buildings tied to the author of the Anne of Green Gables books, as well as people playing the roles of the main characters. The buildings are interesting, but the whole place is really geared more... More

I can understand why the reviews for this are all over the place, but Avonlea Village was really a highlight for our group, which ranged from ages 10 to 50 and included three males. The interaction is absolutely what this is all about, from the music shows (don't miss the concert at the end of the day!) to the potato... More

We stopped in here on the last day of our vacation... not really knowing what we were going to see. There are activities that take place all day long including a very good folk band that plays some island songs and crowd pleasing numbers, learning how to die wool which was interesting, especially for the children who get to help....
