From the minute we drove down the path and saw Anne's house I was hooked. It is so inexpensive to tour the grounds, see artifacts and see the movie that I was able to spend more in the gift shop. All of the staff was so friendly and helpful. Please indulge yourself with a tour of this beautiful place.

This is the historic site tied to L.M. Montgomery and far less commercialized than the nearby Avonlea village. The house is beautifully preserved and the visitor center and grounds have interesting exhibits. The trails through the remnant natural areas nearby are nice, although beset by traffic noise and adjoin golf courses. Aimed more at adults; kids will like the Avonlea... More

Green Gables is almost a required visit for "Anne of Green Gables" fans. To my disappointment, the area is touristy and commercial, and doesn't feel completely authentic. The Green Gables site is bordered by a golf course, which is visible from the front lawn and on parts of the trails. If you are looking for a Green Gables like in... More

If you have not read the book or watch the movie you will not find this place interesting. We purposely watched the movie before we get there and it definitely makes a difference. The house itself isn't very big but the trails around it has really nice scenery for picture-taking.You can stroll along Lover's Lane as well as explore the... More

I brought my 4 year old daughter to learn a bit about Anne of Green Gables. She got excited about it and now she can recognize the character when she sees it. There is a nice gift shop and if you love Anne you will love to shop here. I bought my daughter a book with a keepsake stamp on... More

I really didn't want to come here. But I like history, books and the arts. I did read Anne Of Green Gables and it was nice to see where the inspiration for the book came from. The Haunted Woods path was a nice sidebar and it is also in the book. So with that in mind, it wasn't so bad.... More

Unless you are HUGE Anne of Green Gables fan, this is only an okay stop. There really isn't that much to see or do. I should have passed and saved the admission fee. It's cute, but nothing to write home about. I also stopped by Avonlea late in the day, as admissions is free after 5. It's free then because... More

Having never read Anne of Green Gables, I find it difficult to get so excited about this place. I'm not exactly sure why a house that inspired a novel is a national historic site. The house is cute, but not nearly as interesting as some of the other gingerbreaded Victorian homes on PEI. The upstairs is just a set of... More

I was a huge Anne of Green Gables fan as a child, so it was a thrill to visit the real house that inspired the book. The house is very nicely furnished, with nice touches (e.g., look for the broken slate in Anne's room) that will be meaningful to the LM Montgomery fan. I particularly liked the hike through the... We came over from England especially to see Green Gables. It was my wife's lifetime ambition to visit and she wasn't disappointed . We visited the house and walked along 'lover's Lane' and the 'haunted wood'. Whilst there my wife dropped her glasses into a brook but a kind member of staff managed to retrieve them. We'll worth the entrance... More
