Masstown Market is a must stop whenever in the area. They have a fabulous market in the main building, with fresh fruit and vegetables, home baked goodies...sweets, breads. They have a liquor store, with cooler, huge selection of gifts and jewelry, an area of plants and shrubs...groceries, a sit down restaurant, deli, meats. There is a fish market in the... More

We always enjoy a visit to the market at Masstown. There is a great variety of breads, sausage, cheese, etc., as well as in season fresh fruits and vegetables. We often eat lunch at the market enjoying great chowder and their awesome blueberry ice cream. On our last trip there we tried the fish and chips at the outside restaurant... More

This is a great little market with something for everyone! There's sandwiches ready to go or fresh to order and eat in. The bakery has lots of selection and the grocery store produce is amazing. If traveling with pets there's kennels to the side of the lighthouse to put them in, a wonderful idea. This spot is well worth a... More

It's a long road trip from Rhode Island to Cape Breton so a stop along the way is in order. We have used this point as our "stretch your legs and get a nice scoop of ice cream" stop. The fresh bread and other baked goods are great for breakfast. Fresh made donuts are the best! So plan a stop... More

Stopped by Masstown Market yesterday, a long weekend here in Nova Scotia (Natal Day). It was extremely busy with the parking lot full and people parking on the road nearby. Lots of fresh local berries, fruits and vegetables for sale at very reasonable prices. The seafood take out next door was also very busy but I wanted to try the... More

I have started to frequent Masstown Market on a regular basis since June, 2013 and always find the staff to be friendly and helpful. Selection is always wonderful and there is something for everyone with a gift shop, garden center, bakery, grocery section, and deli in the main building. For me, the 45 minute (highway) drive is well worth the... More

This is the best place to stop when driving between Halifax and Moncton. You can pick up a snack, lunch, fresh veggies and baked goods in the market, a gift in the gift shop, fish and chips from the 'boat' outside or fresh fish in the lighthouse. There are kennels so your dogs can take a break from the car... More

We stopped here today for lunch, and instead of fish & chips,we had the 1 piece Haddock & Lobster Potatoe salad. The fish tasted fresh, and the salad was very good. There was lots of chunks of fresh local lobster in the salad, and this along with the one piece fish was very filling. If you order the 2 piece fish, you'll need to be really hungry...
