Our family had a beautiful fish and chips lunch at Catch of the Bay today. We had scallops, shrimp, and haddock with chips and lobster potato salad. We were appreciative of the many gluten-free menu items due to our allergies. The fish is freshly made to order and portion sizes are very generous. Highly recommend this as a destination to... More

My wife and I made a short detour to finally get to Masstown Market for lunch and to look around. Coming from a fishing town and eating fresh fish my entire life, I have pretty high standards when it comes to ordering seafood from a restaurant. This was one of the best fish and chips I have ever had. The... More

Masstown Market is approx. an hour from Halifax & a great place to spend an afternoon, especially in the fall when they lots of local produce & pumpkins galore! The donuts are a highlight for kids & the crafts & home decor is great eye candy!

This is not an attraction, unless you are attracted by an overpriced grocery store, outdoor seafood restaurant and seafood market, and variety of smaller eating areas within the larger super store. We enjoyed an early dinner of seafood chowder and a roast beef sandwich with simple side salad, but not enough to return or to recommend anyone going out of... More

Wow, we are very surprised to read your review. The fish is dipped in batter and cooked as soon as it is ordered, never pre-cooked. I will pass along your comment to the Fish & Chip Boat Manager. Thank you for your comment, and we are pleased you enjoyed the rest of your visit. More

Masstown market is great place to shop. Here are the reasons I like it: ONE STOP SHOPPING - local foods including produce, meat, seafood and dairy products BAKED GOODS - fresh made bread, buns, scones, donuts, and other sweets. All made on location. RESTAURANTS - Great home cooking indoors year round. Seafood on the lighthouse platform during warmer weather SEASONAL... More

Had heard great things about the fish &chips here. Very busy spot, unfortunately I think the cook staff are precooking the fish &then dipping again in hot oil when ordered. Fish has a heavy batter &was very greasy. A real no-no. An excellent stopping place but don't get the fish..

We really enjoyed an outdoor lunch of fish and chips on a breezy summer afternoon. The food was fabulous and the serving sizes are so big that we've learned to get one order of fish n chips and one piece on the side. A delightful bonus - the batter is gluten free!

We have stopped here many times passing through from NB to NS. The produce and baked goods are always excellent quality and value( my family loves the cinnamon buns) and the seafood pie to take home for dinner is a must. I have lived and travelled in the maritimes for 40 years and the fish and chips at the Catch... More

We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit with us and thank you for taking the time to comment. The Fish & Chip Boat has been busy this summer, cooking everything fresh as ordered takes a bit longer, and we thank you for being so understanding. Hope to see you on your next trip! More
