This really is a lovely place to stop any time of year on your drive through Nova Scotia. It is super convenient, being seconds from the highway. You can have a full meal hear or just snacks or pick up ingredients to make your own meal. It also conveniently has a liquor store and gift shop. I have not found... More

My friend from Halifax told met that this is THE place to stop for a meal while driving through Nova Scotia, and she was exactly right. It is a produce market that serves ice cream, prepared foods and there is a gift shop and nursery. We stop here on each road trip and have never been disappointed. I get the... More

I'm travelling to Halifax more often now that I have a Grand child there. We always stop at the Masstown market, where you can find nice seafood, ice cream, the best baked goods and fresh local produce. I often pick up stuff from the gift shop and nursery. For me it's a must when travelling Shediac to Halifax!

This a great place to stop on your way through Nova Scotia, it has everything to stock up on for food while camping, along with a lot of fresh breads, great salami, coffee, ice cream, local produce, its just a really nice grocery store. There is also a little restaurant inside. I would definitely stop here again on my way... More

While the market offers local fare and souvenirs, this is really simply a store. A nice one with some real treats but simply a store. The seafood restaurant beside the market is pretty decent. The fried clam sandwich was very good with a tasty sauce and the portions were generous.

Our business began as a simple fresh fruit market (hence the name Masstown Market) and yes, we have grown considerably since 1969 but you will still find an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables located in the center of Masstown Market. Local farmers still drop off truckloads of their produce daily, when in season. Thank you for your visit and... More

Quite apart from the excellent choices of cafeteria style dining inside the main building, there is also the seafood "ship" at the Lighthouse. Excellent fish and chips served with wooden utensils, and cardboard boxes. No styrofoam! It should have its own listing as a restaurant rather than just included under Masstown Market.

Thank you for your suggestion about listing the Fish & Chip Boat under a separate listing, we will have to look into doing this. We are pleased you enjoyed the fish & chips. More

This is my favorite place to find local products. Maple products, vegetables, bread, meat and seafood pie, you can find almost anything you want in this market. They also have a small food court where ice cream is very famous.

Thank you for mentioning our attention to local products and for taking the time to write a review. Our ice cream counter has been busy since the summer weather has arrived. More

If you are in the Truro area, then you might want to visit the Masstown market. It has it all. Fish and Chips, fresh deli, flower and bedding plant market, a collectibles gift shop, and a giant food food market. All in one location.

We always stop at the Masstown market going between Moncton and Halifax, it's a good stopping point and gives us time to stretch our legs, do whatever we need to do and always pick up some fresh baked goods. The date squares are always a good bet and there is always cheese on sale for 50% off or more so... More
