I just leaned about the mixture of elements to one general name "Pewter" at my visit to Amos shop. I had the free tour of how to make the pewter art and a quick lesson in physics about elements. Important note: Amos Pewter do not mix Lead in their product, but be aware that others may do that and if... More

I went in to learn about the art of working with pewter. There are on-going visits. It is a small place but well organized. There is always a person working behind the glass that can explain all the steps needed. Also lots of interpretive panels illustrating the history, uses and the process for working with pewter. You can buy pieces... More

This is not just a gift shop! I discovered that I could actually learn how the pewter pieces are made by watching the staff and asking questions. I even tried polishing my own pewter sand dollar! My family enjoyed the visit as well - the kids especially liked watching the liquid pewter harden in mere seconds and then melt into... More

Spent about 30 mins in Amos Pewter, watched fabrication on site with interesting conversation with one of the artisans. Large selection, reasonable prices. If you are in the neighborhood, worth stopping by. Lovely town with gorgeous bay views, chick town with clothing and gifts, some art.

We always buy the pewter ornaments for Christmas presents and our family look forward to receiving them every year.

There are many different pewter companies in Nova Scotia. Amos Pewter is, in my opinion, is heads above the rest. It is their simplicity and elegance of design that sets them in a different category. My daughter collects the sea treasures and my other daughter, recently married has this year's Amos ornament on their tree

My party stopped in here during our travels this past weekend. Many in our group purchased things from this store. Good prices for local pewter souvenirs from the Chester, NS area.

I go here whenever I am in Mahone Bay, always interesting to see the designers working on a new piece. Everything is beautifully displayed, and staff are attentive but not pushy. Beautiful building inside and out, great shopping experience.

One of the shops that attracted us to Mahone Bay. Not just your ordinary trinket shop. Real pewter objects are created there. We found a diversity of items: household goods, collectables, jewelery. There were plenty of choices of size, style and cost. I must admit to a dumb attack because we bought a nice cake knife and you quessed it,... More

While in Mahone Bay I made it a point to stop in to Amos Pewter. I had seen their work online, and wanted to buy in person. They have a great display area, and the sales people are very helpful. They also have a very informative demonstration area where they make all the items for the shop. I purchased a... More
