We are newbies to the cabot trail and this took our breath away. A little scary driving up initially!

Traveling counter clockwise after crossing the short ferry ride from Sydney, NS, we began our trek up Cape Smokey. Never have we witnessed such breathtaking natural beauty! Fall travel is a must here. The colors and fresh mountain air will leave you breathless with awe.

Some friends and I drove this summer to Ingonish,NS, driving through Smokey mountain. What a spectacular view. The mountain, the moose that cross in front of us. Wow! It is so beautiful and all the pit stop. It was marvellous!.

A fairly rough trail in places and quite overgrown but well worth the trek for the views over Ingonish Bay at the end.

Landed in North Sydney and headed directly to the Cabot Trail. Enjoyed an afternoon hike along the coast with some incredible views. Allow 3 to 4 hours for pictures and picking blueberries if in season.

Wonderful drive with breathtaking views. Lots of little stores to visit on the trail with unusual and interesting things to see.

We were lucky enough to be able to see from the lookouts to the horizon. The roadside lookouts come up on you quickly, so be ready for them. The best lookout is the provincial one next to the popular roadside one and it has toilets and a wee walkway path

Such a fun drive! Would probably be a little dangerous when snow and ice come in to play, but definitely neat in the summer and fall months. Would be a really nice jaunt to do on a motorcycle. Lots of places to pull over and enjoy the view; the view is spectacular from all angles. Be sure to bring your... More

There is a great view from the picnic area on the top of the mountain. It is a great challenge for cyclists as well.
