This weekend I went on a tour with North River Kayak Tours. My boyfriend and I did the 1/2 day tour. They take 6-8 people on a tour with a guide, which is a great amount for a kayak tour. This was my first experience with ocean kayaking and it was incredible. The 1/2 day tour is for any level... More

Started off the 2015 season with a group of 6 and had a great time! Angelo is a great guide; very funny and easy going with a lot of passion for his business. Scenery is beautiful - you pass by an old mill and stop at a beach with a huge waterfall for homemade tea and lunch. I wish we... More

6 of us + Angelo went out for the first trip of the 2015 season and what a great trip it was! Angelo was funny, knowledgeable and fun. The views were excellent, and the snacks on the beach by the waterfall were delicious. Wish we would have signed up for the full-day trip looking back at the fun we had!

We did a full-day kayak trip with North River Kayak. It was early in the season, so we were the only clients that day. Angelo, the owner of the company, was our guide. Most of our time was spent paddling on St. Ann’s Bay, accessed directly from North River. It was an excellent day. St. Ann’s Bay is a wild... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our half-day trip with Angelo. We coasted along the rocky shores basking in the autumn light and cool weather. The bald eagles were no longer on their nests; but the view is awesome never-the-less. Angelo set an easy pace and had a great deal to talk about; but also left us to our own thoughts at times.... This was my second kayaking trip, very impressive. We were a group of 8 persons, everyone was excited. Justin and the other guy were very friendly. We loved their black dog, the chai-chocoloate tea and the home-made bread. The weather was not that good, but kayaking was fun and exciting. Some of us were racing. Justin's guys were enthusiastic and... More

It was a perfect adventure right from start to finish! When I called a month before even getting to Nova Scotia they were very helpful and friendly. The day I arrived for my adventure they were amazing! They were very welcoming and sat and chatted with me while the kayaks were being prepared. They took to the time to chat... More

This was our first kayaking trip, and we're not all that athletic. Angelo and Justin were great hosts, and we felt completely safe and well taken care of. The day was cloudy when we began, but turned into sheets of pouring rain (typical Nova Scotia summer, we heard). We were drenched! Justin led us and our four fellow kayakers to... More

My daughter and I did the 3 hour sea kayaking with Justin and had an amazing time. Justin was a terrific and knowledgeable teacher and guide. I'm not the most coordinated person and I was able to learn and kayak and enjoy the amazing scenery. I highly recommend this to anyone who's thinking about trying it - it's like hiking... More

My two friends and I visited North River Kayak on a whirlwind tour of the Cabot Trail over Labor Day weekend. We could not have asked for a better half-day sea kayaking adventure. First, Angelo runs a great operation. He personifies the experience. Laid back, friendly, talented individual. We arrived to the sound of him tickling the strings of his... More
