Kidston Island, known for its lighthouse is made up of a small woods and cozy sandy beach complete with lifeguard. A shuttle boat transported us over to the island free of charge, no reservations needed. It departs from the local wharf right behind the charming Kidston Landing Boutique filled will local arts and crafts. Besides taking the short hike to... More

This is a good place to go if you want to swim, especially with kids. There is a short loop trail with some nice water views. The lighthouse is not open for viewing.

Loved this store!!! The owner was there and helped find a Canadian flag made of wood to hang on a post at the beginning of our driveway. The sign was made in Canada - no China product here!!!

Don't be fooled by the view of the lighthouse from Baddeck. We took the ferry across and found a nice little beach for swimming. I decided to venture down the beach and around the corner to get a closer look at the lighthouse and found a magnificent rocky beach with a magnificent view of the bay. My family spent hours... I have been to Baddeck many times since I was a child and today was the first time I ventured to Kidston Island. I sailed around it many times and always wanted to see what was there and today curiosity got the better of me. The shuttle boat, which is a small pontoon boat that holds about a dozen people... The lighthouse us a beautiful attraction and can be viewed both from the shores of baddeck, but you can also take a short trip by passenger ferry to the island. From the ferry landing it is just a dirt walk to the lighthouse. The lighthouse is closed abc locked do not lots to do. Just a typical small Canadian lighthouse... More

We stayed at the Silver Dart loge and the people there were great with things to do with the Grand children. They told us to check out kidston Island because there is no beach in Baddeck. A short, ( free ) boat taxi across the harbor to the island with a very nice beech. all necessary facilities even it's own... More

Best place to just get a beach tan in Baddeck. Take the path behind the bbq place to a nice set of picnic tables. Awesome views.
