We stayed at the loft over the Treasure Box for two nights. The loft was spotless and can easily sleep 8. We ate two breakfasts here. As the reviews state the food is basic home cooking. Boyd is the frontman and he always has a humorous reply. The coming and goings of the locals only added to the experience.

We dropped by here, quite by chance after a long drive. We ate a simple but very good lunch here. The service was typically Newfoundland: extremely nice and homely. As said the food here is simple but so very good. After leaving we poked our head by the kitchen and could see the person in the kitchen kneading dough, with... More

Fine for a quick lunch. Home made and tasty. we had pea soup and fish chowder, both local staples, and while they were not the best we've had, they were tasty. Also an overwhelming array of kitschy souvenirs.

We stopped in for a late lunch. We had the salt cod cakes, which this place is well known for. We loved them, and they are especially wonderful with the accompanying relish! We also asked for a round of toutons as it seemed a great place to try these Newfoundland delicacies. The couple who run the gift shop/cafe are very... More

The Treasure Box is a gift shop selling chotchkies and souvenirs, but also has a kitchen. I ordered a combination plate that included the salted cod fishcakes, baked beans, and toutons. The fishcakes were formed with more cake than fish and lacked a nice crispy exterior, but still maintained a tasty flavor. The baked beans were very standard fair, while... More
