We stayed at Fishers' Loft Inn, close to the trail, and spent an enjoyable afternoon walking and gawking on this world class hiking/walking trail. It is so well positioned and maintained.....some climbs, mostly with stairs, but easily doable with care. Well worth the effort for the spectacular views of forest, cliffs, and seascapes. more

We hiked the trail because the travel information we received from the NFLD tourism board said the trail was voted among the top 35 of trails in US and Europe and we were not disappointed! Skerwink Trail is a must do for anyone visiting the Bonavista Peninsula!! Spectacular vistas and great opportunities to view seabirds and whales. Some sections skirt some very high cliffs, but there is an "inland" trail for those who don't enjoy heights.
