We didn't actually go the lighthouse when it was open. But you must go there at night. Around 7/7:30 pm the puffins start to come back in from the water. They fly right over your head and with a good camera and patience you can get some great shots. You can also see the whales in the distant (bring binoculars).... More

It takes only about five minutes to tour the inside of this restored lighthouse and it's interesting to see. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for students with ID. The young lady who sold us our tickets gave us a brief explanation of what we could see on the ground floor and offered to answer our questions about... More

Lighthouse tour was conducted by 3 different guides. All were very clear and knowledgeable about the history of the lighthouse and its operation. The hill on which the lighthouse stands is surrounded by ocean in which whales can be seen frolicking. We were lucky to also see icebergs floating in the distance. The cliffs are busy with puffins flying back... More

The journey down to Bonavista is beautiful be sure to go and see the puffins in Elliston on the way. The lighthouse at Cape Bonavista offers tours. We'll worth e $3 cost. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. The view was amazing. Puffins, icebergs and humpback whales added to the amazing experience. We actually watched a mother and baby humpback breach... More

Admission to the lighthouse includes admission to the Mockbeggar Plantation in Bonavista - a nice two-for-one deal - or inquire about the Provincial Pass that will get you in to a whole bunch of Nefoundland tourism establishments if you are visiting the province for a few days. The interior of the lighthouse, where the keepers and their families lived and... More

Well you need to sing the song! Tip of the peninsula. Picturesque. We found it quite a relaxing place. Easy to get to and good parking.

This is a large lighthouse with a new coat of paint. It is better viewed down the trail a bit. To the right of the lighthouse there is an open grassy area next to the water with a rocky island very close to the mainland. Atlantic Puffins nest here and it was a great location to photograph and listen to... More

Despite the heat, it was nice to see the old lighthouse again, and show it to a new generation. It is well preserved, and staff are on hand to answer any questions you may have.
