Admission to the lighthouse includes admission to the Mockbeggar Plantation in Bonavista - a nice two-for-one deal - or inquire about the Provincial Pass that will get you in to a whole bunch of Nefoundland tourism establishments if you are visiting the province for a few days. The interior of the lighthouse, where the keepers and their families lived and... More

The staff were very helpful, paid special attention to our four year old grandson! He was very impressed and they patiently answered all his questions!

Well you need to sing the song! Tip of the peninsula. Picturesque. We found it quite a relaxing place. Easy to get to and good parking.

Worth a trip for the wonderful views. We saw thousands of puffins and whales in the distance - beautiful and worth the trip.

This is a large lighthouse with a new coat of paint. It is better viewed down the trail a bit. To the right of the lighthouse there is an open grassy area next to the water with a rocky island very close to the mainland. Atlantic Puffins nest here and it was a great location to photograph and listen to... More

Despite the heat, it was nice to see the old lighthouse again, and show it to a new generation. It is well preserved, and staff are on hand to answer any questions you may have.

We travelled to the tip of the Bonavista Peninsula and were rewarded by a playful whale within 200 metres of the lighthouse location: It was hiding behind huge rock formations against a backdrop of two huge Icebergs ( this location is in the North Atlantic Iceberg alley). The only thing missing was the Puffins - we will likely see them... More

It was awesome to get to fully see what life as a lighthouse keeper was like. The lighthouse is fully open to tourists including going up in the light tower to see how the light turns and bulbs are changed. Lighthouse is furnished as it would have been in the early part of the century. Guides are knowledgable about the... More

It was neat to hear about the life of a lighthouse keeper. What an important and very demanding job. Cool to see how the light was turned!!

When we were there the lighthouse was closed for some renovations so we didn't get to take the tour but we were completely entertained by the gigantic icebergs in the area. From the locals they said they hadn't seen this many bergs since the 60's. There were so many really large ones it was hard to figure out which one... More
